It may be only one very short weekend but I have the most awesome time with my fellow collectors at the @mbxgathering. We chat online most of the year, but the bond over the Matchbox brand has created some lasting friendships. I always forget how much fun this event is. Unfortunately this year I lost my voice at dinner Friday (I blame that blue margarita) so I my jokes and unsolicited opinions were severely restricted. If you met me for the first time, I’m very sorry, but I hope you enjoy the cars I sold you! Thank you, John. I told myself I wasn’t going to, but I ended up winning a couple preproduction models during the charity auction: a raw Moving Parts Lexus GX550 and a Toyota Celica (which has not yet been released). Coincidentally, these two models are a perfect reflection of my two actual cars, a modern Lexus off roader and 90s Toyota coupe… amazing! And if you don’t care about any of what I just said, there are more 2026 sneaks if you scroll. What a way to wrap up the 2024 Leagues at @overdriveraceway. So many battles out there. I tried to capture as much of it as I could knowing I’d make this video, but still missed a lot of it. Just wanted to say well done to all the drivers and congrats to our podium drivers for their determination and pushing themselves to victory well deserved.

The @mbxgathering is a fantastic toy car convention and it’s nice to get the 2025 preview from @matchboxworld. However, I had way more fun going out for food, car spotting, critiquing architecture, drinking at the hotel bar, watching the Isotopes and eating more food than just sitting around and talking about diecast. Glad to see everyone this year, it’s always nice to pick up where we left off. Lucky to have some great friends in the hobby.
