Record 63 is “Rose Gauntlet” by Jon Sikoh.

A red rose, held gently by an armoured hand. A simple idea, beautifully done.

Jon has painted the armour with so much depth, catching reflections of green, blue and white across the metal. Even the hole in the vinyl disappears seamlessly into the gauntlet. The red and purple rose at the top is soft and delicate against the steel. We love the contrast between the gentle and strong.

The muted, atmospheric background brings everything together, giving the rose and armour space to stand out.

This piece feels especially fitting for the exhibition. John Mason was part of the Fellowship, and armour became such a familiar part of how many of us remember him. We think this is really thoughtful, understated tribute to him.

“Rose Gauntlet” is up for auction now, raising money for Children’s Hospice South West. Could this be the piece that finds its way to you? Place your bid and help us raise funds for this brilliant charity. 🙏🏼✨

Meet the Artist: Jon Sikoh

For well over a decade, Jon has been transforming walls into bold, striking works of art.

Drawing has been part of Jon’s life since he was young, eventually leading him to discover spray paint as his creative medium. Over the years he’s developed a style that’s instantly recognisable, with many people knowing a piece is his before they even spot the signature. 🎨

A familiar name within Glastonbury’s creative community, Jon is responsible for many of the murals that bring colour and character to the town, including several along the Glastonbury Mural Trail. His work can also be found much further afield, each piece carrying the same distinctive style that has become uniquely his own. ✨

We’re thankful to have Jon as part of Vinyl & Valour. His record carries the same bold, vibrant style that has made his work instantly recognisable across Glastonbury and beyond.
