Turns out “follow your dreams” leaves out a lot of details.
Like rejection. Waiting. Self-doubt. Development hell.
So I made candles for that part.

This is the candle I have lit next to my laptop when I’m pitching. I’M SHOCKED people love GREENLIT so much!!! And ecstatic! THANK YOU! It feels good to be understood while I’m trying to make you feel understood. This is the most aspirational candle. And I get people wanting a little torch like a flag in the sand where they’re trying to go. Guess I have to make more! So glad you’re enjoying them.

Three DEVELOPMENT HELLs at that! This order made me so happy because I felt like they understood what this candle is trying to do. It acknowledges that development hell exists and says what you might be feeling out loud. No, you aren’t crazy, you’re just dealing with endless revisions. I hope this absolutely amazing smelling smoky, yet sweet candle brings some comfort. #packingorders #candlelovers #tvwriters #smallbusiness #blackownedbrand

I’ve been reusing packing peanuts for shipping my orders that I got from things I bought to launch my candle line, so I’ve never been sure if they were biodegradable or not. Today I finally found out!

I tried to make environmentally aware choices like using honeycomb paper instead of bubble wrap.

I hope you enjoy melting the packing peanuts in your order as much as I did! #packingorders #creativebusiness #candlelovers #blackownedbrand #smallbusiness

My brilliant and talented friend @jonterrig has finally launched her candle line, @sojustafewnotes - candles for creatives! Inspired by her own experience as a TV and film writer, the candles are Greenlit (Smells like champagne), Can I Pick Your Brain? (Smells like a caramel latte), and Development Hell (Smells like a beach bonfire).

(Product shots by yours truly! At IKEA 😂)

I’ve watched Jonterri build this business from the ground up and I couldn’t be prouder. She took the time (months and months!) to perfect each scent, each wick, each everything! Making candles is easy, but making GOOD candles takes time, and I love that Jonterri has really taken the time to perfect them.

I know there are MANY Hollywood people, creative people, assistant people in my feed. Y’all looking for a wrap gift? Perhaps a holiday gift for your company? Support a small, VERY small, Black-owned business: sojustafewnotes.com 🕯️✨ Greenlit is my personal favorite!

Also take a gander at us taking product shots at IKEA! Thanks IKEA!
