Today is National Coming Out Day!
Sadly, I have to recognize that coming out as anything other than cisgender and heterosexual isn’t easy nor safe for everyone.
Despite unprecedented progress on the issue in previous years, there is a loud and horrible movement to suppress and erase queer people.
We will overcome this! By remaining visible and active.
I’ve selected these cards from Vamp: The Theda Bara Tarot by Jook Tarot as an exercise in cartomancy for the community. The Page of Hope (Cups) is us remaining hopeful and learning how to keep it alive even during this tough time. The Emperor is us stepping up and doing what we can to inspire others to join in and work toward our goal which is Justice; true equality and freedom to be ourselves without oppression.
For anyone who comes out today: I congratulate you! You are someone’s hero!
For those who have to remain quiet: I understand. My heart is with you.
