Sometimes we want God to change our circumstances when He wants to change our hearts.

We love a God who comforts us, provides for us, and answers our prayers but do we trust Him when His plans look different from ours? God is still on His throne. He is still good. And He is still worthy of our trust, even when we don’t understand what He’s doing. Faith isn’t about getting God to do what we want. It’s about trusting Him no matter what. Read that again.

Can we agree that God’s presence changes everything?

Sometimes God doesn’t keep us from the fire. Instead, He meets us in the middle of it. When life gets hard and the way forward feels uncertain, we can trust that God is still present, still working, and still worthy of our faith. Don’t just look for God to bring you out of the fire. Look for Him to reveal Himself to you in the middle of it.

What do you turn to when crisis comes your way?

What ever is going on in your life, before you turn to a friend, before you turn to a google search, before anything else… we remind you to turn to the Lord first. Daniel’s first instinct was to go to the Lord, and if he can do it, then so can we. Turn to the Lord today first.

Are there areas of your life that you have compromised in? Maybe it’s the language you use or the music you listen to or the books you read. Daniel’s story is so inspiring in the way that he didn’t compromise even though he had every opportunity to do so. As you consider your own life and your own choices, we encourage you to be like Daniel. To be in the culture but not of the culture. To honor those around you even when you disagree. To walk in obedience to the Lord even when it is the opposite of what you are used to or what those around you are doing. Daniel is proof that it is possible to do so. If he could walk the walk, you can to.
