Sometimes you find friends on the journey but when you’re lucky you find family!

Big day for NTX MMA — we had to divide and conquer!

One crew was at the Anna Community Boo Bash, meeting families in our community, talking about what we do, and giving hands-on demonstrations. Thank you to the Anna Chamber of Commerce for inviting us to be part of it, and to all the wonderful families who stopped by and chatted with us today — we're looking forward to seeing some of you on the mats soon.

The other crew was at the American Grappling Federation Dallas State Championships. Our kids competed against 83 other jiu-jitsu gyms — 84 teams total — and NTX MMA finished **4th overall, 3rd in Gi, and 8th in No-Gi.** That's a serious showing against some of the best gyms in the state.

Huge shout out to every athlete who stepped on the mats today. We are super proud of how you performed.

And thank you to the parents, grandparents, extended family, and friends who showed up to cheer the team on. This doesn't happen without you.

THREE GRAPPLING ARTS. ONE GYM.

BJJ. Wrestling. Judo.

They all have one thing in common: control. But each one teaches you a different way to get there.

🥋 BJJ — Control → Submit
Position. Patience. Guard work. Submissions. Decision-making. BJJ teaches you how to control the fight on the ground and turn position into a finish.

🤼 Wrestling — Takedown → Control
Pressure. Explosiveness. Scrambling. Top control. Wrestling teaches you how to dictate where the fight goes, get there on your terms, and stay in control.

🥋 Judo — Grip → Off-Balance → Throw
Timing. Balance. Grip fighting. Throws. Transitions. Judo teaches you to use movement, leverage, and timing to take your opponent’s balance and control the stand-up game.

Here’s where it gets good…

They cross over.

Wrestling sharpens your takedowns and scrambling.
Judo changes the way you approach grips, movement, and stand-up.
BJJ connects it all with positional control and submissions.

At NTX MMA, you don’t have to pick just one.

Train all three. Develop the areas where your game is weak. Add more tools to the areas where you’re already strong.

Build a higher skill set. Become a more complete grappler.

BJJ | WRESTLING | JUDO

Three years ago, NTX MMA began as a dream. Today, it’s a thriving family, community, and home for wrestling, Judo, and Jiu Jitsu—and we’re just getting started.

First, thank you to my family—Chastity, Summer, and Haleigh. Your sacrifices, support, and belief in this dream have made everything possible. There would be no NTX MMA without you!

To our coaches, families, athletes, and supporters: thank you for showing up, putting in the work, and helping build something special. A special thank-you to Professor Virgil, Maggie, Sophia, and Team Dreadnought BJJ for always making the trip to support us.

Congratulations to every athlete who ranked up today. Your dedication earned this achievement, and we’re proud to celebrate you.

A huge congratulations to Coach Michelle and Coach Josh on earning your black belts! We’re incredibly proud of you and grateful for the example you continue to set.

NTX MMA is more than a martial arts gym—it’s a family, a community, and a home.

Thank you for trusting us, growing with us, and helping make NTX MMA what it is!

Three years down. A lifetime of impact ahead.

Black belt ❤️🖤

Today was truly surreal.
A culmination of almost 13 years as a Jiu Jitsu practitioner.

I am so grateful that I got to share this moment with Everett, who has been in the gym watching me train and teach his whole life.

The two hardest, and most rewarding, things I have done in my life are Jiu Jitsu and being a mom.

Both have saved me.
Transformed me.
And provided endless lessons about perseverance and relentlessly pursuing what you love.

I hope one day Everett looks back and realizes all that this black belt means.

To my @ntxmma family, I cannot describe how grateful I am. To be somewhere with people that genuinely love and support you is life changing. The cheers, tears and hype for this special moment in my life meant so much.

@virgil.allen2 thank you so much for everything.
Our shared love, lineage and appreciation for @octaviocoutobjj made this was a sweet, full circle moment in my jiu jitsu career.

@jordan_the3rd getting me to come to NTX was one of the best decisions of my life and I’m so grateful for it!

@txgrappler71 thank you for all that you guys have done to support me, from giving me a coaching home to encouraging and helping with the @theempowermentproject.co - my life has changed for the better since coming to NTX.

I have come so far and I have much to learn.
I’m so excited and grateful for this next chapter.

We also want to give a special thank you to the following: Dreadnought BJJ, Aguila Jiu-Jitsu, JFLO Judo, Anna High School Athletics Staff, Anna Chamber of Commerce, Workout Anytime Anna, Texas Roadhouse Anna, and Country Charm Coffee for their friendship and support over the years.

NTX MMA wouldn’t be what it is today without the families, coaches, businesses, teams, and friends who have supported us along the way.

This is what a strong community can build.

Come hang out with us Saturday, meet the NTX MMA family, check out the gym, and celebrate three years with us.

This Saturday, we’re opening the doors at NTX MMA for something bigger than just another day of training.

This is for our community.

Whether you’re a parent, teenager, young adult, grandparent, athlete, or someone who has never stepped inside a martial arts gym before — you’re welcome here.

Join us for our Community Self Defense Seminar and learn practical skills that can help you become more aware, more confident, and better prepared to protect yourself and the people you care about.

🥊 COMMUNITY SELF DEFENSE SEMINAR
📅 Saturday, September 19
⏰ 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
📍 NTX MMA | 2010 W. White St., Suite 145 | Anna, TX
❤️ Donation based — open to the entire community

Male or female. Young or old. Beginner or experienced. You don’t need to be in great shape. You don’t need martial arts experience. Just show up ready to learn.

We’ll work on situational awareness, practical self-defense techniques, confidence, and skills you can actually use.

This seminar also supports The Empowerment Project, with proceeds helping survivors and efforts to combat violence against women.

At NTX MMA, we believe martial arts should do more than build better athletes.

It should build stronger people and safer communities.

Bring your family. Bring a friend. Bring someone you care about.

Anna — this one is for you. We’ll see you Saturday.

📲 Help us reach more of our community by sharing this post and tagging someone you’d like to bring with you.

(Orange Belt Debut)
The 5x Judo State Champion Returned
To her original Dojo to Compete.
XG has the Same Dream
But with A New Team ! @ntxmma Judo
It brought back so many great memories to return where it all started. Seeing some of our favorite Coaches, Parents, & Teammates. We Love East Side Dojo. 🙏
Every Journey has its set of challenges. XG told me a few kids called her a TRADER!
But I believe at that age kids learn from their parents & what they say and hear! In a Real MMA Youth Journey we will belong to many teams. I Teach XG at the end of the day we are Team Texas ✊🏾 and it’s not how you Start it’s how you FINISH !
I reminded XG she’s the best 9yr old at 59lbs in Texas Hands Down in Judo.
Parents Lie, Coaches Lie, Kids Lie, But Numbers,Stats, & Medals Don’t !
Big Shout Out to @ntxmma for Signing XG when she was a Judo Free Agent 🙏
It came down to the Finals Vs Leah B.
From Gracie Barra McKinney & East Side Dojo

Clara Weaver and I had a BIG day yesterday, competing in the Bacerra Judo Memorial Competition at Eastside Dojo! Clara won 🥇 winning two of two matches. Her drop SEOI was on point! I went 2 of 3 in the novice division (18+ and up) winning🥈and 3 of 3 in Veterans (40+) where I won 🥇by throwing two brown belts (for the win) and submitting a second degree black belt!

I’m so glad we joined Ntx Mma and specifically the Judo program. I started judo “wanting to be better at throwing” and have since really learned to love the sport. It’s so great watching Clara bloom into a stellar young Judoku and I can’t wait to see where she goes from here.

Thanks so much to Jordan Burton III, Diana Yoshida , and David Yoshida for committing so much time to our growth and success. We are truly grateful! Also thanks to Bryan Evans, Lucas Rubbo, and Javier Torres Mma for your contributions to our BJJ journey through the years as well! #ntxmma @dyoshi132 @ladydi_09 @jordan_the3rd @ntxmma
