As many of you already know through murmurs around town, conversations in any one of our chairs here at Solhawk, or perhaps an intuitive sense that a shift was coming, our beloved studio here in Lyons—started by @kris_davidson_ and carried forward the past two years by @jordanlempe and myself—will be coming to a close at the end of this year.
Although this transition comes with some grief, I feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to carry the torch for someone who had such a profound influence on me when I first began to find my voice in tattooing. I hold a great deal of gratitude, but when you know it’s time to leave, you follow that call. I believe life is supposed to take you in directions you don’t expect or understand. That very belief led me here in the first place.

It’s been an abundant two years in this beautiful space, and I’m happy to have gotten to know and weave myself into some of this front range community. Thank you to everyone who has received work from me, continues to receive work from me, and is willing to travel so we can continue working together. The support of my clients has quite literally allowed me passage through a rather complicated experience of traversing a rocky terrain of my own choosing. Bless the exposure of these lands and all that I feel I know better because of them.
We’ll be exiting the space in a matter of months, and the excitement I feel about bringing this chapter to a close in a strong way while setting foot west seems to renew my system each and every day. We’ll have two more art shows before our dispersal, and I’ll be finishing so many exciting projects along the way as well. Thank you Colorado, for the richness of feeling and sight you’ve graced me with. Thank you Kris, Jordan, Nathanial and Olivia.
Stay tuned if you wish, while I unwind and realign accordingly. X

When we clear our minds and allow our hands to follow a mysterious stream of inspiration, what comes through? Our unique expression becomes our way of relating ourselves to the world. These expressions become our unique unspoken languages. Languages that are not heard, instead they are felt.

A little shop update:

Later this year, Lydia will be moving on from Solhawk to pursue a new chapter in her life.

It’s hard to put into words how much she has contributed to this place - beyond the tattoos she’s created, she’s helped shape the culture, spirit, and sense of connection that people feel when they walk through the door. I’m deeply grateful for the creativity, care, friendship, and dedication she’s brought to the shop.

While we’ll miss having her here, I’m excited to see where her path leads and grateful for everything we’ve built together.

As we look toward the next chapter of Solhawk, I’m exploring the possibility of bringing on one or two experienced tattooers who are interested in putting down roots and helping shape what this place becomes over the coming years.

I’m especially interested in artists who value strong craftsmanship, community, personal growth, and contributing to a healthy studio culture.

If you’ve ever been curious about working at Solhawk, or know someone who might be a great fit, send me a message. I’d love to have some conversations and see what’s possible.
