Now on view: KOSMOS DES ALLTAGS – KOSMOS OF THE QUOTIDIAN Lyoudmila Milanova (@milanova_lucy) and Jordan West (@jordanweststudio) curated by Nada Schroer (@_nada_rosa_) The exhibition brings together Lyoudmila Milanova and Jordan West in a dialogue between the cosmic and the everyday. Astronomical movements, geological forces and atmospheric phenomena meet urban scenes, industrial traces and personal rhythms of daily life. Set in the former church Kunstraum Heilig Geist, the exhibition explores transitions between myth and science, structure and chance, and the planetary and the personal. You are invited to take a drawing from Jordan West’s Journal Drawings series. Sat–Sun, 12–6 PM Free entry Funded by @kulturamtstadtessen Photos: @borisei91 #LucyMilanova #JordanWest #SteffiLindner #Kunstraumhlgeist

Januar 2026. #contemporaryart #exhibition @hlgeist_essen @milanova_lucy @jordanweststudio @nataliataranta

KOSMOS DES ALLTAGS - COSMOS OF THE QUOTIDIAN Lyoudmila Milanova (@milanova_lucy) and Jordan West (@jordanweststudio) in dialogue OPENING this Sat, 13 December, 12:00 pm, at Kunstraum Heilig Geist Essen @hlgeist_essen “Kosmos des Alltags” presents an unexpected encounter between the works of Lyoudmila Milanova and Jordan West - both in search for what keeps the cosmic and the everyday together: transcendent moments between repetition and interruption. In the former sacred space, planetary rhythms meet urban fragments meet. Milanova’s works address geophysical processes, light phenomena and the entanglement of human-nature. West presents empty urban scenes and spontaneous drawings that reveal inner movements. In the juxtaposition of Milanova’s and West’s works lies an invitation to reflect on our relationship to the world—moving forward between consistency and coincidence. This is the last weekend to visit the group exhibition WHERE EARTH MEETS SKY at KÖNIG BERGSON. The group exhibition showcases contemporary paintings that reimagine the landscape as a dynamic space shaped by culture, memory, and perception. Featuring the works of 26 artists on the ground and first floor of the Neubau at Bergson Kunstkraftwerk (@bergson), the exhibition challenges traditional views of the landscape, not as a static, natural entity, but as a constantly evolving concept. Each artist brings a unique, abstract approach to the "landscape" theme, pushing the boundaries of representation and distilling the natural world into new visual languages. The landscape is not simply depicted – it becomes a vehicle for exploring our environment's psychological, emotional, and political dimensions. Through layers of texture, color, and form, the artists shift our focus from the physical landscape to its symbolic meanings – revealing how our perception of nature is shaped by history, memory, and collective identity. We hope to see you there! Jordan West's (@jordanweststudio) work is on view in the group exhibition WHERE EARTH MEETS SKY at KÖNIG BERGSON (@koeniggalerie) at the Bergson Kunstkraftwerk (@bergson). The exhibition explores landscape as a dynamic, evolving concept shaped by culture, memory, and perception. Featuring 26 artists, the show challenges traditional views of nature through abstraction and new visual languages. West’s paintings examine the psychological and symbolic weight of place, memory, and absence. Rooted in personal experience but intentionally devoid of human figures, his work invites viewers to explore environments marked by emotional resonance and historical echo. Through a restrained, stylized approach to representation, West offers a quiet archaeology of the present – a visual index of the built and natural world that hovers between objectivity and dream. Today is the last day to see the exhibition TENSION by Jordan West (@jordanweststudio) at KÖNIG TELEGRAPHENAMT (@koeniggalerie)! The scenes depicted by West are distinctly contemporary and thus rooted in a specific time. Reduced and clarified to collective, nonspecific descriptions of place and experience, they are stylized representations of reality, memory, and narrative. The objectively and brightly colored paintings have a theatrical quality due to the contrast between remnants of civilization and the simultaneous absence of human life. The works become invitations and offer viewers the possibility to immerse themselves in the scenes and interpret the images based on their own associative memories, dreams, and experiences; personal notions of time and place, to create their own narrative of the painting. West endeavors to create a balance between formal reduction and empirical representation, enabling a broader and more extended, individual experience of the work by the viewer.
