Boorloo community 🤍🖤

Join us for a FREE Cultural Workshop with Aliwah Cultural Enterprise Sunday 12th April, 11:00am – 2:00pm at Whiteman Park (Keith Maine Centre). 📍

Come along to learn and experience Noongar culture and dance in a safe, welcoming space. This workshop is open to young people aged 6–17, with parents and carers warmly invited to join in and be part of the day. 👣

We’ll be sharing culture through movement, Artefacts showcase, and storytelling and there’ll also be a free sausage sizzle for everyone to enjoy. 🪃

This is more than a workshop; it’s our way of giving back and honouring the Elders and knowledge holders who have shared with us, so we can continue carrying culture, connection, and story for the next 80,000 years. 🔥

For more info, feel free to reach out via our Aliwah social media pages or to @deejay_nannup ✌🏾

We’d love to see you there 💯

Still sitting with the feeling from our recent trip over to Sydney for the Yabun Festival.

It was an incredible experience for our group, a trip filled with growth, inspiration and purpose. To be able to travel, dance and represent our community, our country and our culture on Gadigal is something we don’t take lightly.

I’m beyond grateful for my dance crew who continue to commit to Aliwah with discipline, heart and pride. You represent so much more than yourselves every time you step onto the ground. To our Noongar Elders and knowledge holders who believe in us, guide us and trust us to carry culture the right way, we carry that responsibility with respect and honour. We hope we made you proud.

Thank you to my family for always backing the vision, and a huge thank you to Aunty Jenni @jen_bullock16 , for the love, the care, the incredible dance gear, and for opening her home and making us feel so supported while away.

Deep appreciation to Gadigal Country for holding us so warmly, the energy over there was powerful and grounding, was good to be back!

And to brother Josh @wambuul_woodworks and his crew, the Wambuul Dancers, thank you for the support, the respect and the way you shared your culture while honouring ours with pride and integrity. That exchange was something special.

This trip meant a lot to me personally as the founder of Aliwah. Being able to expose our young mob to the diversity of Indigenous cultures across this continent is so important, to keep them inspired, educated and proud of who they are and where they come from.

We’re just getting started 💯👣🔥
