A Little PREVIEW: Going back into what makes one happy... such a small thing like Salsa Dancing really puts a smile on my face no matter what. I think I was born dancing salsa, I wasn’t taught this skill at all. How it happened? I was 5 years old and at one of my parents’ parties back in Colombia, (Yes, Colombians are dancers, and yes my parents had a lot of house parties because that’s what we Colombians do! There’s always a good time to dance salsa!) I just started moving my hips to a Lambada song: (From Brasil, at the time called the Forbidden Dance; lots of hip movement) Seriously I do not know how I got all of the steps exactly right 😜 As you might know Salsa dancing also has a lot of hip movement so after that night, I was dancing Salsa like a pro! In this video you can see how a #barranquillero and a #cucuteña dance Colombian Salsa. More videos to come! Thanks @joearro @chido.mex we really make a great salsa team! And thanks to your uncle Joe Arroyo for gifting us this beautiful song!

Because of technical difficulties I had to post these videos again, I apologize for the inconvenience. “Oiga, Mire y Vea” This song brings so much memories from growing up! I remember at any dancing party back home this song had to be played! Otherwise it would be a travesty! Saludos a todos los Caleños! I know that this is not specifically how #caleños dance salsa but we humbly honor you. In many regions of the Colombian country their people have a different way of dancing salsa:
. Barranquilla: They usually dance salsa hugging, not having an extended hand like in these videos. (I might post an example of this type of dancing later on)
. Cali: They really focus on their quick steps, it is all movement from the waist down.
. Cucúta: I really don’t know how to explain it just look at my steps in these videos. Notice how we both have a slightly different move of the body. That is what differentiates our regions. :) What can I say, #barranquilla and #cúcuta aquí presente!
