When I started this challenge, I thought it would be about movement.

What I'm discovering is that it's really about intention.

I've spent plenty of time resting over the years. I've spent plenty of time scrolling, watching TV, and distracting myself too.

What feels different about this challenge is that I'm choosing to spend a few minutes each day intentionally giving back to myself.

Some days that looks like yoga.
Some days it looks like breathwork.
Some days it looks like meditation.

The practice itself matters less than the intention behind it.

I'm learning that reconnecting with myself isn't about adding more to my plate.

It's about being present for the things that actually fill my cup instead of automatically reaching for the things that numb me.

What is one thing that helps you reconnect with yourself?

Day 6: Teaching is Practice Too

When people see yoga teachers, they often see the poses.

What they don't always see is the listening, the observing, the adapting, and the intention behind every cue.

Teaching yoga isn't separate from my practice. It is my practice.

Every class is an opportunity to be present, connect with others, and remember why I fell in love with this work in the first place.

As I move through this journey of reconnecting with myself, teaching reminds me that growth doesn't always happen when we're focused inward. Sometimes it happens while we're sharing what we've learned with others.

Today, I'm grateful for the opportunity to guide, support, and grow alongside my students.

When I was going through my Yoga Therapy program, I felt deeply connected to myself.

I was constantly checking in with my body, noticing what I needed, and honoring it. My practices weren't something I squeezed into my day. They were woven into how I lived.

Then life got busy.

I returned to the demands of a corporate job, started building businesses, and focused on taking care of everyone and everything around me.

Little by little, that connection started to fade.

Not because I forgot what to do.
Not because I stopped believing in it.

I simply stopped making it a priority.

This 30-day challenge isn't about perfection.

It's about intentionally reconnecting with myself.

It's about choosing, every day, to spend a few minutes doing something that gives back to me instead of immediately pouring my energy into everything else.

Some days that's movement.
Some days it's meditation.
Some days it's simply taking a moment to listen.

None of it is perfect.

But it is intentional.

And right now, that feels like enough.

This carousel is one I could have written for myself a few weeks ago.

Between work, responsibilities, goals, and trying to be everything for everyone, I realized I had stopped checking in with the one person I spend every moment with: myself.

Not because I didn't care.
Not because I was doing anything wrong.

I was simply caught in the cycle of doing.

This 30-day challenge has become less about yoga and more about remembering how to listen.

If any of these signs resonate with you, know that you're not alone.

What's one thing you do when you realize you've become disconnected from yourself?

When most people think of yoga, they picture poses on a mat.

But yoga is so much more than movement.

The word "yoga" comes from the Sanskrit word yuj, meaning "to yoke" or "to unite." At its heart, yoga is the practice of creating connection between body, mind, breath, and spirit.

That means meditation is yoga.
Breathwork is yoga.
Stillness is yoga.

Today my practice didn't look like stretching, balancing, or flowing through poses. It looked like sitting, breathing, and listening.

Exactly what I needed.

Sometimes the most powerful yoga practice isn't about moving your body. It's about being present enough to hear what your body is trying to tell you.

Day 4

My period started and usually the first 24 hrs are very hard on me. I wanted to be gentle with my body and give myself some rest so that’s exactly what I did. Red light. Restorative pose. Sage. Weighted eye mask. Intentional breath.

Day 3 was about slowing down and listening to my body.

I was experience some cramping. My period was starting soon. My body needed some quiet time to rest and heal.

So I gave myself the space to just be still because sometimes that is all you need. 🖤
