Did you know the iconic Eames Lounge Chair was inspired by a baseball mitt? House Beautiful Editorial Director @josaltz spoke with Eames Demetrios, grandson of Charles and Ray Eames and director of @eamesoffice, about the legacy of his grandparents’ work. The Eames Lounge Chair may be a design icon, but Demetrios says you don’t really have your chair until you’ve owned it for a year. Like a well-worn baseball mitt, it’s meant to become more comfortable with time.

Day one at High Point Market was full in the best possible way.

I stopped by the @reginaandrewdetroit showroom for Amber Guyton’s book signing, celebrated 130 years of @housebeautiful. What a great party! Met some wonderful new people, and reconnected with friends I haven’t seen in far too long.

Market is always inspiring, but the people are what make it special. The conversations, unexpected run-ins, laughter, and shared love of design made for a good first day. And we’re just getting started!
