Major life update. After almost ten years, Southend will be closing its doors at the end of 2026. In 2017, Joe and I started Southend on a hunch that brands needed more storytelling from smaller, more nimble crews. We built on a dream, and it took a lot of nerve. Tough days turned into tough weeks and tough months. But we kept at it and never doubted each other or the shared goal of branded storytelling. Four years in, Mandy joined us. First as project manager, then producer, then partner. Together the three of us built something I never could have built alone. We said from the start that we were brand builders first and filmmakers second, and I’m proud we stayed true to that. We cared about the story behind the work, not just how it looked. What I’ll carry with me most is the people. The clients who trusted us with their stories. The crews who showed up early, stayed late, and made hard days feel like the best job in the world. Joe and Mandy, thank you for your talent, your honesty, and your friendship. Building Southend with you has been the privilege of my career. Endings like this are never simple, so let me answer the big questions. Was the company failing? No. We’re still profitable this year. Was there a falling out? No. We’re in one accord and our friendships are intact. Will Southend finish its work? Yes. Every open bid and project will be completed with the same excellence we’ve always brought. So why close? I’m a true believer in seasons. We’re coming out of one where we gave it everything, and when I picked my head up, I questioned my purpose in what I was grinding on day after day. We’ve been asked to produce more for less. We’ve bent to the point of breaking to get work over the line. Bids have taken months, not weeks. That’s a hard way to run a business. What’s next for me? I’m keeping my options open and walking in faith through the doors God opens. That will look like a personal brand and a few startups. More in the coming days. What I know is this: we’re closing this chapter well, with gratitude and with our relationships intact.

This session was so much more than photos—it was healing, celebration, and so many shared memories in one perfect evening. Holly and Joseph welcomed their beautiful rainbow baby, Juniper this past March, after the loss of their son, Eden. We laughed, we cried, and we stood barefoot in the sunset holding space for both grief and joy. It was one of the greatest honors to document this chapter for these two beautiful human beings. To any parent walking through loss—your pain is real, your love is endless, and you are not alone. Holly, thank you for sharing your heart and letting me witness your strength and light and thank you both for letting me share and be a part of your story. • • • @scrlgallery #scrl #scrlgallery #staugustine #maternityshoot #maternity #staugustinephotographer #jacksonvillephotographer #rainbowbaby #palatkaphotographer #styledshoot #cute #love #baby #photography #photo #photos #beach #pics #beachmaternity #pictures #snapshot #art #beautiful #instagood #picoftheday #photooftheday #exposure #capture #carlycasellaphotography

In August, I was privileged to record and film with Leading the Way ministries for Dr. Michael Youssef’s sermon series “A Heart for God.” Here is the final product: a short tease featured in the introduction of part 15! You can find the whole sermon at ltw.org. (I highly recommend checking it out!!) 🎥 @joseph.peed @daniel_snaphousemedia @zainakhouzam @ltworg
