Remember the BLM fundraiser @theearthissue did last year? They’re back with an online exhibition and print sale called 🌻🥀STRANGE FLOWERS🌸🌹 which is running for the whole of black history month, with raised funds being split between artists and various causes. ✨

It’s no surprise that I have a mild/extreme obsession with hands. People always ask me why I’m so drawn to hands and maybe it’s because they remind me of pure connection, or maybe it’s because my Nonna and my Mama would always stroke my hands so gently (and with so much love and safety) that they’ve become a direct extension of love itself (the only voice that has ever lead me closer to my own truths). During lockdown I found myself longing & craving for touch more than anything else and knowing I wasn’t able to connect & interact with other humans like that, I started reaching out to a lot of you virtually. Photographing your hands and movements, and in turn satisfying my craving for being close to someone else. What started as a photography series turned into one of the most heartwarming collaborations I’ve worked on that truly confirmed our need for human connection. ‘Many Hands’ is a visual exploration into the longing for connection, affection and touch during worldwide lockdown, shot entirely through Zoom/ FaceTime. Directed by @sundae_studios who have transformed exactly that into the most beautiful visuals. Narrated and written by @frankiewade - who, while we’re on the topic of connection, has been one of the most inspirational & affirming connections I’ve made this year. You know dem ones where you meet and it feels as though you’ve known them a lifetime? -
Hearing Frankie’s words for ‘Many Hands’ for the first time, I was overcome with emotions that up until that point, I didn’t know how to put into words. And I’m sure that many of you will feel the same while listening to him. Music by @mtmbo who has created the most perfect sound to guide our collaborators movements. And a big thank you to all the talent across the globe who have lent us their hands and been so welcoming & patient with us! Thank you!! Really proud of this one & my team! OUT NOW VIA @dazed 💕💕
