To the Pirates of 2026,

It's hard to put into words what this group means to me.

For some people, Senior Night is about celebrating one season. For me, it was a celebration of a journey that began long before Morro Bay High School baseball.

I've had the privilege of watching many of these young men grow from Little Leaguers into leaders, competitors, and outstanding young adults.

When you surprised me on your Senior Night with that personalized custom wood bat, I was caught completely off guard. The bat itself is something I'll treasure forever, but what it represents means even more. It represents years of memories, Friday Night Lights, practices, road trips, extra inning walk offs, heartbreaks, laughter, and friendships that have stood the test of time.

Baseball has a funny way of measuring people. The scoreboard records the runs, the iPad stores the stats, and the record book remembers the accomplishments. But the things I'll remember most won't be found in any box score. I'll remember the character you've shown, the way you've supported one another, the resilience you've displayed when things didn't go your way, and the pride you've brought to Morro Bay Baseball.
I've watched some of you hit your first home runs, throw your first varsity innings, and experience both the thrill of success and the lessons that come with failure.

Through it all, you've grown into men your families, your coaches, and your community can be proud of.
As you leave this baseball field and move into the next chapter of your lives, remember the lessons this game taught you will continue to matter.
•Show up when nobody is watching.
•Work hard when things get difficult.
•Be a great teammate.
•Lead with integrity.
•Compete with passion.
•Never forget where you came from.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey. Thank you for the memories. Thank you for the trust. And thank you for reminding me why I continue to give my time and heart to this game and this community.

No matter where life takes you, you'll always be part of the Morro Bay Baseball family.

Congratulations

Eli, Colton, Quentin, Joe, Tanner, Evan & Cruz,
Your next chapter awaits.
