I never post, but today I will.
I had the opportunity to work Lakota West basketball the last few years. I came to help make a dent and show these kids that basketball is just a part of their journey, but there's so much more to life.
What I didn't know is that when I joined, I would be humbled in so many ways by these young men and what they would teach me about how far I need to go in my journey still. I'm sure I'm supposed to have all the answers as a coach, but the truth is they taught me just as much as I tried to teach them.
I wanted to shout out just a few that have made some commitments in their life and celebrate them: Bryce Curry, Josh Tyson, and Roman Combs. Congratulations on one of many decisions to come in life. What an amazing accomplishment for you young men. I hope you can see yourselves the way I see you and know you're capable of anything.
This is just one of the commitments that you will make. I encourage you to find your North Star in Christ, as the decisions will only become more challenging and harder. That is the one true way that I know will lead you.
Finally, I want to thank my brother, Coach Moss, for allowing me in with the little experience that I had to offer. I appreciate the opportunity to be humbled. I hope many more young men will see you as the great leader that I do and understand there's something super special about this program.
Thank you for the memories, the lessons, and the ride. Firebirds for life. 🔥🏀
