#giuntialpuntorescaldina #giuntirescaldina #consiglidilettura #halloween #librithriller

State per scoprirlo...

5 sconosciuti.
5 minuti prima di m0rire.

Tic tac, tic tac.

📗 Great storytelling from #JoshMalerman
🎙️ Fabulous narration by the talented @psantomasso

🤫 How do you avoid thinking about the one thing you are told NEVER to think about?
It’s practically impossible.
And this is why the ghost of Daphne will never die.
🫢 Curiosity and skepticism will keep her around.
Which means that bodies will continue dropping.

This book was a bit of a rollercoaster for me. The build was a slow burn and the mystery of it kept me turning the pages.
👻 It’s not your typical ghost story, in structure or content, but absolutely worth the read. Especially if you’re a fan of Malerman’s style.

🎧 Even better though, was the audiobook.
#PatriciaSantomasso is one of my favorite narrators, and she did such an excellent job here with all the characters and making me feel the creep.

HAY ALGO MALO EN CASA
📚 Autor: Josh Malerman @joshmalerman
🏷️ Editorial: @nocturnaed
🔎 Categoría: Terror
🖤 Temas clave: Infancia, maternidad y terror psicológico
📖 Páginas: 349
📕 Formato: tapa blanda

👧🏻🛌 Other Mommy 🛌👧🏻 von @joshmalerman @dtv_verlag | Rezensionsexemplar

Look at the very pretty books I got this weekend. Mary Danner and Elizabeth Aspbury spoiled me. I only bought two of these.

Goblin by Josh Malerman is a fun read. I listened to the audio and the narrator was perfect. And now I have this beautiful hardcover copy.

Marla by Jonathan Janz is one of my top reads this year. And this edition is gorgeous.

I've been quite looking forward to Mazywood by Tananarive Due. I'm also a sucker for sprayed edges. And purple is my favorite color, so it's lovely.

I read the first chapter of Incarnate by Alma Katsu when she posted it to her webpage. I'm very much looking forward to finishing it.

Nick Cutter is an auto buy, so I was very excited to find The Dorians.

Everybody has been talking about NightJars by Michael Wehunt, so that one is high up on my TBR.

Emily Zinnikas is new to me, but the synopsis for I am the Monster Under the Bed piqued my curiosity.

And The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury is a perfect gift.

👻 THREE BOOKS. ONE LAST SPOOKY COMMITMENT. 💙

October is almost over, and apparently I’ve decided the best way to celebrate is by committing to three more books that will probably make me suspicious of everyone around me. Healthy hobby. Very normal. 😂

🏠 Currently Committed: The Obsession by Natasha Preston

A teenage girl with a dangerous secret and someone who knows a little too much. Because apparently privacy is a luxury we can no longer afford. 👀

🐈‍⬛ Next Committed: Look What the Cat Dragged In by Jason Rekulak

A creepy mystery, buried secrets, and the kind of unsettling atmosphere that makes you question what everyone is hiding. Naturally, I’m intrigued.

🌫️ Also Next Committed: Goblin by Josh Malerman

Six interconnected stories set in one very strange town. Small-town charm has never sounded quite so threatening. 💀

🏆 Goodreads Achievements: Absolutely none.

No badges. No challenges. Just three books I willingly chose to disturb my peace before Halloween.

Honestly, if I finish all three before October ends, I think Goodreads should create an achievement specifically for poor time management. 🎃

Which of these three would you pick up first? And are you squeezing in one last spooky read before October ends?

creepy, unsettling, and definitely not the kind of book you want to read alone in a dark house…👀🏠

this book was definitely creepy and had some genuinely unsettling moments! the atmosphere was eerie, and i really liked how the story played on childhood fears. (genuinely could not stand the mother!!) however, i felt like some parts didn’t hit as hard as i hoped, and i was left wanting a little more by the end to the point i had to reread the last page to make sure i read it right. overall, it was an interesting, spooky read, but not a new favorite for me!🖤📚

Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman⭐️⭐️⭐️

should i see the movie?🍿

🗽🇺🇸📚 The New York book haul!

Of course, I couldn’t visit NYC without bringing home a few books. And by a few, I mean my suitcase had some extra reading material to squeeze in! 📚🤷‍♀️

Here’s what made the trip home with me:
🗽 Witch Trial — Harriet Tyce
🗽 I’m Dreaming of a New York Christmas — Hayley Dunlop
🗽 The Lamb — Lucy Rose
🗽 Witchcraft for Wayward Girls — Grady Hendrix
🗽 The Haunting of Ashburn House — Darcy Coates
🗽 The Eyes Are the Best Part — Monika Kim
🗽 Incidents Around the House — Josh Malerman
🗽 We Used to Live Here — Marcus Kliewer
🗽The Five-Star Weekend — Elin Hilderbrand

A mix of thrillers, creepy reads, some beachy summer fiction and a Christmas book thrown in for good measure. 😂🎄📚

Nine books, one New York trip and a TBR that absolutely did not need any help growing. 😂📚

Now I just need to decide which one to read first… 👀

Have you read any of these? Which should I bump to the top of my TBR?

Curled up with a book that has your heart racing just a little is my kind of vibe. Have you read Incidents Around the House by @joshmalerman ? The movie, Other Mommy, is based on it.
