@_momosgallery and I gathered 17 creatives in our friends studio. This was the first time I was having 3 new stylists see how I work to show them tips and tricks when it comes to styling editorial looks. Ngl I was a bit nervous since I put together 4 looks during the day of the shoot and on top of that trying to guide my new fashion stylist sisters. My process always comes from a place of childhood, what I feel in my current life and my creative partner @_momosgallery
It’s such an honor to be able to create and share that with my community. Thank you to the incredible Designers, models, hair, makeup, stylists, photographer/director, videographer for BTS for creating this shoot!

The night had its own score.

Finale · The room in motion

Glass against glass, the hiss of fog, crowd chatter, and camera shutters. Helium voices from the Apple Balloon dish. Laughter, then the room fell silent.

Within that score, two systems of craft moved at once.

Fashion entered through fabric, leather, silhouette, movement, and the decisions of Chicago designers. Hospitality continued through glass, ice, timing, service, and trained hands.

The room did not stop being The Aviary when fashion entered it. It became a place where each discipline could recognize the other.

Different materials • Shared craft • One Chicago room

This film documents a first pilot, not a conclusion. The next question is whether Chicago will support, document, and repeat the model at the level the work deserves.

These were not props.

They were authors.

Act II · Mise en scène

A kitchen-door cue sounded: one model entered, then another, then another. The pacing gave each look time to register and platforms opened the sightlines. Designers entered afterward and took their places beside the work.

Ives Barrera and Tyler Morgan extended the material language through footwear and accessories.

Glass, ice, fabric, leather, metal, color, and movement shared one floor. Service continued while fashion changed what the room could hold.

The strongest frames are the ones where both systems remain visible: a server moving past a model, a cocktail beside a garment, a guest leaning closer to inspect the work.

Chicago fashion belonged in the room on its own terms.

What would couture taste like? 🥂

I joined The Alinea Group and the Chicago Fashion Coalition at The Aviary to celebrate the launch of Next: Fashion—Next restaurant’s menu inspired by the craftsmanship, history, and imagination of couture.

The evening brought together designers, models, artists, food, and cocktails. As someone with a background in fashion design, I loved seeing fashion translated beyond clothing and into presentation, texture, atmosphere, and storytelling.

Chef Achatz and the team approach dining as a complete creative experience: what you see, hear, and feel matters alongside what you taste. That connection between fashion and food is what makes this concept so intriguing.

Next: Fashion runs through January 10, 2027—save this for a special occasion with someone who appreciates the art in the details.

@Nextchicago new menu is 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭 | 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐨𝐧. The menu is inspired by the craft, history, and imagination of Couture. Each dish on the menu is crafted as a designer would a garment. Each course will make a statement. 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝑭𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒖𝒏𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆.
