Have you checked out the wonderful work by @jostbaker which is located in the airport terminal? This stunning piece features Leith Bridge by @universityofotago and it’s up for sale, as is all of the work in the terminal. If you would like to see it on your wall at home, come and see the team at the airport info desk!

Thank you @nava_visualarts for the opportunity to speak as part of their ‘Sustainability of practice: a forum for independent artists’ at Caboolture Regional Art Gallery last week. Thought provoking and timely presentations from artists Donna Davis, Jo St Baker and Vernon Ah Kee about current challenges and opportunities for visual artists; as well as a lively Q & A session, all expertly moderated/wrangled by Katie Edmiston @truenorth_cre8ive A personal highlight was Ah Kee’s rules for being an artist, which include 1. Art is for grown ups 2. Test your ideas and (my favourite) 3. There is no time for diva sh*t! 📷: @waanjiman #nava #sustainabilityofpractice #cabooltureregionalartgallery #artisforgrownups #testyourideas #thereisnotimefordivashit

Today I went to a special forum run by Australia’s @nava_visualarts at the Caboolture Regional Art Gallery. We listened to curator Hamish Sawyer @hamishsawyer and artists Donna Davis, Jo St. Baker @jostbaker and Vernon Ah Kee @waanjiman (chaired by the lovely Katie Edmiston @truenorth_cre8ive ). They spoke about ways in which we, as artists, can create long term, sustainable art careers. Oh my gosh! So many light bulb moments as I sat and listened with some of my artist friends from the Fraser Coast Arts Collective! I came home after the long car trip back feeling validated, worthy, and as determined as ever to continue forging my path as an artist individually and as part of my arts community on the Fraser Coast and here, with you all. Sometimes you need that extra push to realise that you are heading in the right direction and to inspire you to reach for the stars. Today - thanks to NAVA, Hamish, Donna, Jo, Vernon, and Katie - I got that. I’m forever thankful! Onwards and upwards! 🙌😀❤️

Thank you also to my fellow Fraser Coast Arts Collective members @lj9ray @georgiedeeart @susie.lewis.315 @yuhasakosh , Susan Standley, and Francis Blair for your company and for a great day! ❤️
