INTRODUCING all the bands playing the LFP on Saturday 1st August at Club 85 in Hitchin - our headliners JOTNARR

I remember first seeing Jotnarr at the much missed Unicorn in Camden back in 2017 and being instantly impressed. Their tight-as-feck black metal riffs and blasts merged with a volatile crust punk sentiment, all sprinkled with some delicate post-metal passages. They have expanded their lineup to a four piece and this will be their SECOND show of the day, after playing a show over in Colchester. If you dig clinically precise black metal played in a crust punk stylee…do not miss!

Jotnarr will be joined by Tomb Slab, Dreadbeggar and another band TBC (unfortunately Wrench had to pull out but they will be back).

Thanks to Luke Fisher and Kody Edwards who guested tonight.

You can find the show to listen back to here (or in the Insta bio)

https://www.mixcloud.com/CitySoundChelmsford/transmission-with-paul-dupree-wed-22nd-july-2026/

Most of the first hour was spent with Luke, who voluntarily outlined his personal experiences affecting his own mental health. If you need emergency help or access to crisis resources please go to the Mind Charity web site (https://www.mind.org.uk) which also has helpline information.

Luke was also kind enough to play two of his original songs on the show tonight.

Kody, from the band Dear Boy and the Noise, spoke to us about the bnd and what’s coming up, and we played three exclusive live performances from their recent Hot Box gig.

Loxley was again on hand to introduce the second of three new songs, and there ’s the bunch of new local and global releases on our ever-bewildering playlist.

Next gig is next weekend, the local legend Mick the hippy is doing his annual weirdofest and I’m grateful to have been asked back. I have Mick to thank for kickstarting bada duüm by offering me a gig at the first one of these a few years back, before I even had any material written. Nothin like a big dose of fear + a deadline to get things going.
Tix avail from @colchartscentre website, use code Bada for a reduced ticket price of £12.50 - and thanks to @earthmotherfucker for the video…see u down the front x

💥🌼💖
@kniveschauscreamo jump on the @ostracaband show at @piehouse.coop next month!
Also featuring @cady_band, @jotnarr & @christina.carpenter.1329 this is one of the most intense lineups in our whole Summer Of Screamo, thanks a lot to Cady for letting us help on this one!
There's about 25 tickets left for this, buy one while you can cause there honestly will be people sharing this poster on message boards going 'holy shit that lineup is huge' at some point. And they'll be right cause it is.
