A night that made an impact.

This past Saturday, our community came together for Candela, Dallas Contemporary’s annual gala, raising a record-breaking $1.7 million in support of the museum and its mission to bring groundbreaking contemporary art to Dallas, free and open to all.

Inspired by the global influence of Latin American art and culture, the evening brought together artists, collectors, and supporters for a celebration of creativity, generosity, and community. We were honored to recognize @ivan_argote as our 2026 Honorary Artist and celebrate the opening of his exhibition, How to Move a Monument on a Tuesday Morning.

A heartfelt thank-you to our Gala co-chairs, @cata_gonzalez_j, @almanzaramiro, and @peteraugustus, along with the artists and galleries who generously contributed to the auctions, our sponsors and partners, and everyone who made this extraordinary evening possible.

From the excitement of the live auction led by renowned auctioneer @simondepury, to an unforgettable performance by @abrahamalexander and a lively after-party with @delilah and @hwoodgroup, the celebration was a reflection of the creativity, energy, and generosity that make this community so special.

We’re also deeply grateful to @silverliningeventco, our event planner; @conceptostudio__, our floral designer; and @art2catering for helping bring the evening to life through thoughtful design, beautiful florals, and an exceptional culinary experience.

Every bid, gift, and contribution helps support our exhibitions, educational initiatives, and free public programming. Thank you for helping us keep contemporary art accessible to all.

We had the most beautiful afternoon at The Reveal Gala Luncheon this past Friday and are thrilled to share that Catalina Gonzalez Jorba (@cata_gonzalez_j), Ramiro Garcia (@almanzaramiro), and Peter Augustus Owen (@peteraugustus) will serve as Co-Chairs for the 2026 Gala on Saturday, September 26.

From the first glimpse of this year’s vision to the energy felt throughout the room, it was incredibly special to gather in anticipation of what’s ahead for Dallas Contemporary.

Inspired by a 1950s Latin American revival and the work of honorary artist Iván Argote, this year’s celebration will be immersive, vibrant, and deeply rooted in culture, movement, and community.

We are so grateful to everyone who joined us and made the afternoon so meaningful. We cannot wait to bring this vision to life.
