Always great to gather in support of @hrcnorthcarolina! So many people united in achieving equality - without exception. Especially grateful for State Sen. @lisagrafstein who delivered remarks on the fight ahead and what's possible in North Carolina.

We have so many people - leaders, candidates, businesses, and beyond - who are going to make sure 2024 charts a better path forward!

Long post incoming...

Finally got a chance to catch up from an amazing week being in community with amazing activists and leaders.

Wednesday, Equality NC gathered folks from across the state to meet at the NC General Assembly for Advocacy Day. It's always great to hear directly from leaders like Senators Mujtaba Mohammed, Natasha Marcus, and Rachel Hunt, who are stalwart allies to the LGBTQ community alongside Representatives John Autry, Mary Belk, Laura Budd, Becky Carney, Carolyn Logan, and so many others from Mecklenburg County!

Thursday, I got to be with the HRC North Carolina Steering Committee folks for a Lobby Day on the Hill on DC. We're always glad for Congressman Jeff Jackson's leadership! We also had a solid conversation with Senator Thom Tillis' staff, including acknowledging his support for the Respect for Marriage Act.

The rest of the weekend was spent with HRC's Equality Convention, including a powerful Trans Day of Visibility protest in DC led by Queer Youth Assemble. I'm so grateful for the many friends, allies, and co-conspirators who made the whole week informative and energizing! We've got so much work today, but I believe that together we will move forward!

This weekend I had the privilege of co-leading the National Board of Governors Executive Committee retreat alongside BOG chair, Percy Brown and HRC staff, in Washington DC.

We heard from HRC staff leaders as they shared the important foundation work, that will help strengthen our communities, and the necessary social justice initiatives to create a more equitable future for us all.

Thank you to the executive committee who give their time, talent, treasure, and testimony, and lean into HRC’s values as we tackled opportunities to create a better experience for our community leaders and volunteers.

I’m proud to call you our co-conspirators and leaders for change!
