Happy early Valentine's Day to these lovers. ♥️♥️♥️

I've said it before and I'll say it again: birth can be incredibly romantic.

Okay, okay, hear me out.

Obviously there are some aspects of birth that are decidedly unsexy - swearing, burpring, vomit, blood 🩸, poop 💩... to name a few.

But if your partner can hang through all of that and still look you in your eyes and tell you you are strong and capable and amazing (because you ARE), then you know you've found your person.

You can face anything this life throws your way because you are an UNSTOPPABLE team.

Vulnerability takes a lot of trust, but I have seen the way your partner looks at you in labor and I can promise you that the respect, reverence, and deep admiration for you only intensifies.

And that, is hella romantic if you ask me. 🔥🔥🔥

All these sweet babies came into the office last week. Lactation checks, six week visits. Some specifically productive, some just bittersweet as we face the end of our official care. So grateful for what these babies represent - not just happy birth stories and successful home births, but black mamas who didn’t face the racial disparities that happen in the hospital system. They were treated with the same respect, honor, deference, and attention to detail as every client in our practice. They didn’t have to worry about their voices not being heard. About their concerns being left unattended. My heart swells with pride and gratitude for the part that Wellborn gets to play in the community at large, and the generational difference that has already been made in these mama’s lives. It’s pretty amazing.
