Tubey Cutters are a set of 9 brass miniature circle cutters designed and made by Joy Funnell! They’re not just adorable, they’re also incredibly versatile. ✂️

If you’ve taken one of Joy’s workshops, chances are you’ve used these for one thing or another. Use them with any type of metal or polymer clay to cut out tiny circles or holes in wet clay, create perfectly uniform balls or donuts to reinforce holes, and, as demonstrated in this video, use them for stone setting with our kiln-safe stones. ✨

Watch Joy’s previous tutorial to learn how to create professional stone settings with Busch burrs! 💎

A summertime memory with @joyfunnell 🌞 Our team was super lucky to spend an afternoon with the wonderful Joy. She guided us through the process of burnishing, applying enamels & kiln firing enamels. Here are a few clips from our time with Joy...how stunning are the colours after firing!🤩 We used fired fine silver clay paired with our premium Japanese enamels! 🎨

Appalling photos but almost everything I need to drop off at Sheffield assay office once it's weighed and listed.

I can't believe I've so many beautiful pieces that will be ready for sale once they're hallmarked. Every one of them is totally unique and never to be replicated, a truly original piece of jewellery 😍

How beautiful are these pendants made in last week's Enamelling Fun with @joyfunnell Workshop! 🌈 🎨

Students used scratchfoam and our premium Japanese enamels to bring their vibrant designs to life — such stunning results!

It was a real treat to have Joy back in the studio and to welcome so many lovely students. Now we’re full steam ahead prepping for our You Can Make It Masterclasses… and we can’t wait to have the studio buzzing with creativity again soon!

⚠️ 6 WEEK REMINDER! ART CLAY SILVER ACCESSORIES CONTEST 2026⚠️

Do your Art Clay creations tell a story? Are you bursting with creativity? If so, there's still time to enter. If you're already working on your piece, we'd love to know how you are getting on! 👇 ✨

You could win over TWO AND A HALF THOUSAND POUNDS by entering this year's 19th Silver Accessories Contest!

Did you know it has been 5000 years since silver appeared in human history…and now we can’t live without the shiny stuff! 💍

This year’s theme is ’FUTURE’ or 'Open Theme’ (Open theme is exactly as it sounds, any theme or concept that you can dream up!).

All pieces must use Art Clay Silver as the main material, though it can be combined with other materials.

🏆 The top prize is a huge 500,000 Japanese Yen - which at today's rate is £2,636! And, if you don't end up with the top prize, there are 15 other prizes to win!

We’re now collecting entries for Aida’s 19th Silver Accessories Contest 2026.

📅 Deadline for getting work to us: 1st August 2025.
📧 Email support@metalclay.co.uk for full contest guidelines, entry fee (this includes 1 free contest booklet) and an application form.

The second image is a beautiful piece made by previous winner @joyfunnell. Here's what Joy has to say about the Silver Accessories Contest:
“I always look at it as an opportunity to allow myself to spend a lot more time on a piece that is really economic or sensible. I'd say go for making something to the best of your ability, and don't enter thinking you have to win. I think this will be the 10th time I've entered. Winning anything is a bonus that has occasionally happened, but I just love knowing I've work on display in Japan and in the glossy exhibition catalogue!”

Good luck, we hope to hear from you! 🤩
