After 8 months of plotting, I’m relieved and proud to say we produced an incredible REI Path Ahead Ventures Founder Summit at @snowpeakcampfield last week.

Something special happened when we brought 45 outdoor founders of color together. Yes, there were savage scavenger hunts, raucous spa nights, and the occasional heated debate. There were also endless streams of silliness, unsolicited acts of care, and heartfelt tears. To feel it all has always been my vision of leadership. To feel our bodies, be in touch with our emotions, our connection to nature, to understand that building something new is not an act of disruption or exceptionalism, but an evolutionary ripple that began and continues for generations, a slice of imagination made real, the emergence of something special.

Every founder was so wonderfully different. As soon as we learned and welcomed each other’s experiences, we found our common ground: our commitment to community and growth, our fear of the unknown, our relationship to receiving support, our ability to dream, draw, sing, dance, act, lead.

I wish I could say I knew the Summit was going to be great before it even began, but I couldn’t have predicted the outcome. Like so many inspiring journeys, I’m learning presence is power and awareness is armor. Maybe the key to success is knowing exactly who you are, not questioning where or who you’d rather be. Fortunately, when I was singing off-key in front of dozens of founders, now friends, my answer was clear: to be here, now, creating something special together.

Today is #NationalPublicLandsDay: the perfect day to celebrate the places where we hike, climb, camp, and explore.
But this year, our public lands don’t just need our appreciation. They need our voices.

Right now, the U.S. Forest Service has proposed to completely rescind the 2001 Roadless Area Conservation Rule. If this repeal goes through, it will open up millions of acres of intact, pristine national forests to commercial logging, mining, and road development.

Earlier this year, Bonfire Founder and CEO @erikhlambert joined forces with our friends at @conservationalliance in Washington, D.C.. We took the outdoor industry’s voice straight to the Hill to tell lawmakers exactly why these wild spaces must stay protected.

But politicians don’t just need to hear from CEOs, they need to hear from YOU.

🚨 THE DEADLINE IS EXTENDED TO OCTOBER 6, 2026.

The government extended the public comment window, leaving us with a critical two-week countdown. We are teaming up with environmental groups trying to get 1,000,000 official public comments submitted to stop this rollback. It takes less than 60 seconds to submit yours.

How to take action today:

1. Comment „ROADLESS“ below, and we will DM you a link with info on how to submit your official comment to the Forest Service.

2. Share this post to your stories to get the word out, we only have until October 6!

As an outdoor company, we believe in protecting our public lands. Right now, at the last minute, they are under threat.

Senator Mike Lee has introduced an amendment to S.140, the Wildfire Prevention Act, that would nullify the 2001 Roadless Rule.

VOTING IS TOMORROW, Wednesday, which means calls need to happen now.

For more than 20 years, the Roadless Rule has helped protect national forest lands from road-building, logging, mining, and industrial development. We need to speak up quickly and help keep this conservation tool in place.

Please call members of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee today and ask them to oppose this amendment. OPTIONAL SCRIPT IS IN THE COMMENTS.
