Today, on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor the people who were here long before America existed, whose histories, cultures, and contributions are too often overlooked or erased. Paul Cuffe was a proud Black and Wampanoag man who understood that success meant little if you didn’t bring your community along with you. He built a maritime empire, created opportunities for Black and Indigenous mariners, and used his wealth to help others prosper. His story is a reminder that Indigenous history isn’t separate from American history. It IS American history. And it’s not just history. Wampanoag people are here today, keeping their language, traditions, and culture alive. At The Cuffe Project, we believe these stories deserve to be told, celebrated, and passed on to the next generation. Not just today, but every day. Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day! #IndigenousPeoplesDay #PaulCuffe #TheCuffeProject #Wampanoag #IndigenousHistory BlackandIndigenous

🪡 Manga: ‘Bride of the Shark Clan’ & ‘Sunshine in Hades’ Anime (reference): ‘Naruto’ Fun Fact(s): 私は………spoiled です. :) ありがとう, 私の友達 @bebeface_aprilgrace :). 彼女は好きなものを買います. :) I’m hoping that’s right…? Structurally speaking…? The lessons are indeed paying off, by the way. I’m also getting more comfortable and confident integrating what I’ve learned into my daily routine, so WOOHOO!!!!!! “I am heroine.” :) Also, completely unrelated to this post, there’s no way I could be romantically involved with Sherlock-“I’ve deduced”-ass- Holmes because STOP CROSS EXAMINING ME AND ANSWER THE FUCKING QUESTION: Where were you last night………?! That’s all(?). :)

should’ve gotten more noru chara’s… ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Manga: ‘Diamond no Ace’ & ‘Blue Lock’ Manhwa: ‘Painter of the Night’ PSA: I am once again thinking about Giorno Giovanna being a really GREAT protagonist and I hate when people say that he’s overshadowed by Bruno. Like, he is a shining light that ignited the determination in every single member of Bucci Gang; even when they’d vocalize how they were motivated by Bruno, they’d also immediately think to themselves how in awe they were with Giorno (except Abbacchio). He’s also the perfect combination of DIO and Jonathan: DIO’s cut throat, condescending charisma and eloquence + Jonathan’s code of honor = one AMAZING ‘JJBA’ protagonist who I am ashamed to have denied how AMAZING they were, dammit…?! Giorno Giovanna, forgive my insolence. Also, I’m thinking about the conversation Narancia, Mista and Abbacchio were having about vegetarians essentially having no-style because they can’t wear leather and have to wear sneakers and carry around backpacks like??? Mista said loving animals ain’t worth giving up his leather boots, okay……?! LMFAOOOOOOOO ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

This letter from Captain Cuffe to Joseph, an attorney, just sold at auction for $96k. The letter was written November 30, 1815 just prior to Capt Cuffe’s departure to Africa. He was headed there to relocate 38 formerly enslaved Americans. Cuffe believed, as he saw rights for Black people being dismantled even further (slavery was ramping UP) that Black self determination was impossible in America. In the note Cuffe is asking about the price of passage for his passengers on a ship that was taking them from Boston to Westport, where he was with his ship that would take them all to Africa. It appears the Captain was charging $40 above the agreed upon price for each person and their furniture. That would be $100 per person x 38 people. An outrageous sum that Cuffe was paying himself. Today you can get to Westport from Boston for a fraction of that price. Cuffe is so diplomatic - saying that he wants Capt Davis to be rewarded for his service and the passengers to be well attended but they had agreed to “the customary rate”. I’m not sure what he ended up paying but I will hunt it down and report back down the road.

👔 Manga: ‘Dear Sister, I’ve Become a Blessed Maiden’ Manhwa: ‘Roses & Champange’ & ‘Our Sunny Days’ Fun Fact(s): I absolutely loathed ‘Roses & Champange’. As much as I enjoyed the mafia character(s) dynamics and world-building, the smut, and the absolute KNOCK-OUT that is “Miss Korea” at least physically…I hated the fact that Lee Won never held Caesar accountable for his actions and let him be an aggravated menace throughout their relationship simply because Caesar had a rough upbringing, you know…? He was just simply FAR TOO “understanding”, which is not really understanding because all he does is feel bad for Caesar and simply chooses to love him regardless without helping him to understand what it means love someone and trust the person you love, you know……? YOU KNOW?! Ugh. Anyway, I’m adding “censoring explicit manga panels with trinkets” as a skillset to my resume and was so tempted to include that one ‘Our Sunny Days’ panel to this dump BUT I didn’t wanna get flagged to casting a full moon. Hint. Hint. Wink. Wink. :) Also, I’m surprised I can still fit into this ‘Naruto’ one-piece because I haven’t worn it since I was in college in around 2015………?! Wow. Amazing~! :)
