#TapClipOfTheDay: Before the Super Bowl, you all were able to learn a little bit about the @northwesttapconnection in Seattle, Washington. These good folk specialize in rhythm tap at a studio oriented towards race and social justice and connecting dance across the greater Seattle community. What you are watching is a video from Martin Luther King Day in 2021, the same weekend President Joe Biden took office and gave a broken nation a glimmer of hope for the future. The NWTC’s Youth Tap Ensemble put out this video, called “Raise Up,” a song by Ladisi. This was choreographed by Syncopated Lady and Seattle native Pamela Yasutake (@pamelayasutake). This video is a classic example of Black excellence from very talented artists, and is certainly worthy of a throwback feature. Oh, and Go Seahawks. 💚💙 #TBT #BlackTapDancersMatter #NorthwestTapConnection #tapdance Repost from @northwesttapconnection “The time is always right to do what is right.” - Dr. MLK Jr. On the heels of our celebration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we welcome a new administration offering hope across our country and around the world. So much Black excellence displayed at yesterday’s inauguration and we love to see it! However, we must stay vigilant and continue to do the work! We must continue to RAISE UP! Director: Andrea Allen Stuart-Lehalle Camera: Jane Duggan, Glenn Landberg, Corey Klier Producer: Lynn-dee Schwarz On-site COVID safety: Jennifer Aylor Choreographer: @pamelayasutake Dancers: NWTC Youth Tap Ensemble Many thanks to the team at @soundtransit for commissioning this video!

You know we had to hit that #ItDepends challenge one time! Shoutout to @lacey.lemonn for the much needed tutorial. We wore the rest of the party out playing this song on repeat 🤣 Happy 40th to my sister from another mister @shainaarielle85! Per usual, we turned up and you and @t_skip05’s function was one for the books! Love you, Sha Bae!
