THE CITY by David Lee

WE have all heard “the city never sleeps.”

But seeing the city through open eyes revealed its dirty little secret to me: The city never sleeps because our inner child doesn’t feel safe enough to rest yet.

Being an adult is really about creating an environment where your true essence can finally feel safe.

The world’s greatest trick is convincing that innocent self that life is too hard and cruel—that we need heavy armor and must stay battle-ready just to survive in the big city of our universe.

As long as we allow everything outside of us to govern our minds, thoughts, and reactions, the city will never sleep.

There is no rest for the cities, small towns, or countrysides of this beautiful world until we learn to fully love ourselves...

...and live a life that pours from that love like a gentle stream flowing over the rocks of this life.

LOVE YOUR SELF & STAY SELF MOTIVATED 🤙🏾

What helps your inner child finally feel safe enough to rest? Let’s talk about it in the comments. 👇

Wedding Day.. ROUND TWO 🥂💍🤍

Anyone that knows me, knows I’m so extra that we had to have 2 weddings because one just wasn’t enough 💁‍♀️

On a real note- thank you so much to everyone who flew out/came to celebrate us! We are eternally grateful for the incredible community we have. Logan and I love you all so much. We had such a fun night sharing our love with the people who matter most to us, laughing, crying, and dancing the night away!

Xoxo, Mrs. Mekelburg 😉

Always easier said than done, but when you start seeing it, all you can do is get better. To all photographers out there, hobbyists and professionals alike: Today is your day. Go out and take photos! (or go to a studio) 📸🫰🏽🤘🏽

First time going to @fourtillfour for their cars and coffee. Miserably warm, but worth every second when the misery is shared in good company.
