📚 A little peek into my current ARC library! ✨
Three new worlds to get lost in, three stories waiting to be discovered, and absolutely no shortage of books to keep me busy! 📖
Currently reading my way through All the Flames Found, Gravespell and All’s Spell That Ends Spell l, perfect for spooky season and I’m excited to see where these stories take me🔮
One of my favourite things about being an ARC reader is discovering books before they make their way out into the world, and finding a few new favourites along the way. 🫶🏻

The lovely @mariamoodreads tagged me to do an Orange flat lay only for me to realize I truly don't have an aesthetic bone in my body🤭

So instead heres a flatlay of all the book I love to re-read for the fall season.

Books shown:
Sworn to the Shadow Throne by @astoria_hope
Sugar Spells by @grosvaletwrites
A pack for Autumn by @emiliaemersonauthor
Death Meets Cute by @jpennerauthor
Spooning Yours by @jennchipmanauthor
Written in Scent by @sofiarose_author
(Mostly) Human Resources by @graceviallwrites
The Sheperd King Duology by @rmgillig
Emily Wildes Map of the Otherwold by @heather_fawcett

What Books do you love to re-read when fall hits?

#cozyfantasy #romantasy #monsterromance #omegaverse #gothicfantasy

Here's my breakdown of each of them and why I think they're perfect fall reads (for me anyway)

✨️ Sugar Spells ✨️

It's a sweet cozy story about falling in love, dealing with grief, and growth. Also the cover just screams fall!

💜 Sworn to the Shadow Throne 💜

It's a gorgeous Romantasy set in fall and our FMC Lunette smells of baking spices that our MMC Owain can't help but obsess over! (Cue the infamous Bridgerton sniffing scene) He might also do everything in his power to get her to smell good enough to eat 🤭

#romantasybooks #greenflag #shadowdaddy #fantasyromance #grumpysunshine

🍁 A pack for Autumn 🍁

It's cute, Omegaverse and her name is Autumn. She also wears the cutest skirts and tights with sweaters. This book is perfect to get you started nesting for the 'ber months.

🦋 Written in Scent 🦋

Cozy Academia Omegaverse. If college gives you all the fall feels this is a sweet, cozy omegaverse that will have you longing for museums and academia.

🎃 Spookily Yours 🎃

It's set in Halloween with a demon stuck in a cats body and a witch looking for new furry baby. Honestly it's perfect for us who love out Halloween to be cute instead of scary

🕸 (Mostly Human Resources) 🕸

Now this is truly a creepy story. Full of cryptid's and lore. If you love being spooked but like humor to balance out the scares its a perfect book. It's also for those of us who stood up way past bedtime watching those "Cryptid" documentaries on the history

💚🖤 ORCS, GOBLINS & TROLLS, OH MY! 🖤💜

✨ Enter a world of monstrous magic, dangerous desires, and creatures that might just steal more than your heart. ✨

From fearsome orcs with a soft spot for their favorite human, to mischievous goblins and trolls lurking in the shadows, these fantasy reads are serving up magical worlds, delicious tension, and just a little something spicy. 🌶️👀

Expect enchanted adventures, grumpy monsters, unexpected chemistry, and the kind of creatures that make you wonder if perhaps the villains have been misunderstood all along. 😉

Because sometimes the best fairytales come with fangs, tusks, and a very questionable amount of sexual tension. 🫦🔥

📚💚 So tell me, bookish gremlins… which monster are you taking into the enchanted forest? An orc, a goblin, or a troll? 👀

Save this post for your next romantasy mood, and let me know your favorite monster romance recommendations in the comments!

🖤 Happy reading, you little heathens. 🖤

Here’s some books that I’ve read recently, and recommend:

Thistlemarsh - A magical historical romance. Following WW2 Mouse Dunne inherits a crumbling English manor, with the stipulation that she restore it. The manor and its grounds turn out to be haunted by Faerie, who both aid and hinder Mouse in her task. I love old English estate homes, and how they’re steeped in history and, in this case, magic. 🧚 @mooreacorrigan

The Bookshop Detectives - The first in a series by two Kiwi booksellers/former cops. A fun cosy mystery. I really want to visit Havelock North to check out their bookshop! 📕 @thebookshopdetectives

Black Silk & Sympathy - another Kiwi author :) It follows the intrepid Tatty Crowe as she becomes the first female undertaker in 1860s Sydney. Love a woman exercising her agency. ⚰️

The Girl from Greenwich Street - I knew nothing about the 1799 murder of Elma Sands in New York, and the subsequent trial of her accused, which was just as much about politics as it was seeking justice. This is meticulously researched, and, despite everything, I found myself feeling sorry for Alexander Hamilton.🧑‍⚖️ @laurenwillig

The Fellowship of Bakers and Magic - a cosy fantasy read about human baker, Arleta Starstone, and her quest to participate in an elvish baking competition. This had me at baking!🍰
@jpennerauthor

A Fate Inked in Blood - The opening with Freya throwing an axe at her husband was fabulous. A mix of spice, adventure, and Norse mythology as shield maiden Freya strives to fulfil her destiny, with a rugged companion in the form of the warrior Bjorn…who is often shirtless 😉
@danielleljensen

Pagans - This is such an interesting concept. It is set in 2023 London, and based on the idea that Christianity never took root in England. I loved the intertwining of Norse mythology with a police investigation into a series of ritualistic murders.👮
@james521henry

The Jigsaw Man - the first in a series. The flawed protagonist, Inspector Henley, is trying to catch a copycat killer. The original “jigsaw,” Peter Olivier, had me thinking about the near deification of serial killers by society. 🧩 @queennads
