Of all the opportunities I get to DJ, Natty Waves is always right up there at the top of my list. I had such an excellent time playing on board last year, so I was pretty stoked to be back for Dark Mofo 2026! This year I asked to open the sunset cruise. I love that time of day, with the sun going down over the Derwent and everyone settling into the boat. I started off with some ambient tracks, moving through dubby techno and house, then into some brighter, fun progressive house to get everyone ready for Natty. His sets are always so vibrant, quirky and full of surprises, and I had so much fun getting things warmed up for him! There were so many artists I love playing across the two Dark Mofo weekends, and I was frustrated that I couldn’t make it to more cruises due to DJing on land 🤣 I was really grateful to catch @808spritzqueen @robb.ee_ @az_you_do @billyhopes____ @anaya__fm @jam.e___ and the @acuity_____ boys! Every single one of them played incredible sets that transported me to different dimensions. There’s something about being on that boat that I find truly magical. It’s like stepping into an alternate reality where all your troubles disappear for three hours and you can just completely let go and be in the moment. The smoke machines create this beautiful haze over the dance floor, and with the light coming through it, the whole thing feels a bit surreal. Next year when you see tickets for Natty Waves pop up, get around it! It’s one of those experiences that I really think everyone should have at least once. Thanks so much to @nattywaves and everyone involved for having me back! 🌊
