Grade 5 Hatchet Day!🌲🪓 To wrap up their study of the novel Hatchet, our students put their survival skills to the test with an entire day of outdoor adventures! They got to participate in everything from scavenger hunts and team-building challenges to first aid demonstrations and shelter building. It was so cool to see their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in action when they were given the opportunity to figure things out on their own. These are lessons and skills they will carry with them far beyond Grade 5!

In honor of September 11, we wanted to take a moment to recognize and thank some of the first responders who mean so much to our community. 💌 Our middle schoolers came together to write letters of gratitude to firefighters and police officers in our surrounding cities. While a letter is just a small token of our appreciation, we hope these messages serve as a reminder of how grateful we are for all that they do! Note: We waited to share this special project until each department had received its letters.

Bestselling children’s and young adult author Michael Buckley stopped by campus last week. How cool is that?! 📚 Our Middle School crew got to ask him all kinds of questions and even received a signed copy of his new book! We are so thankful to Mr. Buckley for taking the time to visit with our students and share his experience with them. ❤️
