Riverside Rumble VII done and another great tournament weekend in the books. 🥏🔥

Huge shoutout to @onestar_disc_golf and @wallygator29294 for putting on the event and for letting me jump in as an Assistant TD. I’ve been wanting to learn more about what actually goes into running tournaments, and getting a firsthand look at the ins and outs of TD’ing was an awesome experience.

Definitely learned a lot, asked plenty of questions, and came away with a much better appreciation for everything that happens behind the scenes to make a tournament run smoothly.

Of course, it wasn’t all work. 😂 Great golf, great food, and a whole lot of fun with @xredbeardrichx @exploringsara @whatabizzle @proudaggiedad_ @jason.rodgers.3557 all part of the @pearlanddiscgolfdegenerates crew.

Really grateful for the chance to keep learning, keep playing, and keep getting more involved in the disc golf community.

More of this, please. 👊

Three tournaments. Three days. A whole lot of hot disc golf.

Started the weekend Friday with a flex at Texas Army Trail, then Saturday was mixed doubles at Northside Christian Church supporting the @wildflowerdiscgolftour run by @nikki77454 .

Then @discgolfhandsome and I hit the road for East Metro Park for Sunday’s East Metro Cup run by @mintdiscs (and a little homework for the @nadgt.official Championship later this year.

First competitive look at East Metro since The Open at Austin ended with a +2, 5th place finish in MA3 and a 877 rated round.

The course was in great condition and I definitely learned a few things that I’ll be taking with me when the championship rolls around.

Busy weekend, good people, and exactly the kind of disc golf I love.

On to the next one.

I figured this was a pretty good place to start.
I’m JP, a competitive amateur disc golfer from Texas, currently on the Road to 900 and seeing just how far up I can go.
This photo was from The Austin Pro-Am earlier this year at Sprinkle Valley with my good friend @discgolfhandsome as my caddie. I was lucky enough to get paired up with an amazing disc golf pro @valerie_mandujano
Getting to play events like this, meet incredible players, travel, compete, and be a disc golf community is why I love this sport!
Expect tournament weekends, practice, travel, gear, good shots, bad kicks, and more tree hits then I’d like to admit.
Current rating as of 8/11: 873
Next goal: 900
Let’s see where this goes, thanks for joining me on this journey.
