I got to be a part of this really cool photoshoot thanks to @zacharyolewnickii

I want to look back at this period of my life remembering that I felt my strongest, most confident and happiest. This picture will be the perfect representation of that!

While learning more about the history of Fire Island on this trip ignited much overdue clarity and curiosity, it seems a natural part of stepping foot onto the island’s shore is suddenly being so immersed in your experience, the people, the sun, sand, ocean, dogs, dancing, kissing, frolicking, that instead of studying the past in the moment, you simply step into it, into the footprints of the elders, into the bodies of the sun kissed, ocean soaked humans who lived then so you can live now, so filled with laughter and joy and contemplation, in the rolling waves and arms of love.

My love for Physical Theater and Mask performance is nothing new folks! It’s who I AM! I transport you back to 2010 and the production of Peter Shaffer’s “Equus” at @guild_hall starring Alec Baldwin (alecbaldwininsta ) and @samlunderwood !
🎭👹🐎✨👏🏿👏🏻👏🏽

The play utilizes 5 performers as “horses” where they (we) don unique, production-specific costumery (including masks and hoof risers) and MOVE with a developed performance style to convey all the feels, power and majesty of our equine friends! We don’t play horses, we ARE horses… ;)
✨🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎✨

“Equus” is a brilliant play - it explores the need for connection to the divine, amidst the shortcomings of the more established and stricter paths towards divinity that organized religion offers. There is magic in all things - notions of God aren’t limited to houses we consecrate as “churches”…
💫🌊🌲⛪️🕌🕍🛕🕋⛩️🌲🌊💫

It’s hard to bind the boundless, know what i’m sayin’?
😇💙🌀🙏🏽

Anywho, shout out to my fellow cast of horses and those involved - horses are dearly special to me and this production will live in my heart always!
🥹🙏🏽🙌🏽💙
