A love story to running in Virginia Beach

Dear running, I owe so much to you. 💕 Thank you @northendrunclub for meeting me where I stood and raising me higher. The miles had smiles, laughter and tears 😆 Thank you @runningbaddiesclub for bringing endless love and positivity into my weeks. Thank you @sparc.worldwide for reminding me that there is joy even in running half a mile. This running world has given so much. I’m forever grateful. Saying goodbye doesn’t feel right, so I’ll call it a see you later… maybe at Shamrock 😉

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God.
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬

I know the Christmas season isn’t exactly merry & bright for everyone. For me, not only is the grief heavy, but it also brings back painful memories of my last Christmas with Albert. While this time of year is tough, reflecting and meditating on scripture allows me to celebrate this season with fullness of joy.

Emmanuel, God with us. God with me. God with you. God in human flesh—born in a manger in the most simple and the most humble of ways. I love what it says in Philippians 2:6-11 —

”who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.“

Jesus Christ, savior of the world—he is truly the greatest gift we have ever received.

Merry Christmas! 🤍

It felt great chatting it up with fellow bro JoJo Presa on podcast episode 0416. I recommend you guys checking it out on YouTube, Spotify or watching the 15-minute clip here on IG. JoJo’s got some good advice/ tips to bring up as well. Whether it’s about being a Christian, raising a family, or running, he’s got it covered.

Happy 11th anniversary, Jo! I’m so thankful for this life we’ve made together so far and God’s faithfulness through it all. Your dedication to our family and everything you put your time into is truly amazing. Thank you for believing I could do those 26.2 miles. You make me better - not just with running but with everything. I love you!
