Meet the first member of the Jack Black Parade! We’ll be dressing up as Jack Black characters from the 2000s and beyond, but no set of Jack Black characters is complete without Nacho Libre! Who else is in the parade? Guess in the comments ⬇️

Congratulations to The Walrus on the release of Elysian Fields Forever! 🎶 Some of New Orleans’ finest musicians reimagine 12 Beatles songs, and we were thrilled to record three of those tracks here at Blue Velvet NOLA.

Huge thanks to Dave, Andre, Jonathan, and Felix for working with us, and to Jacques Delatour for an outstanding mix.

Go give it a listen! 🎧

Moving right along…I can’t tell you how excited The Walrus is to play a set of Beatles songs with our pals in the Electric Yat Quartet today! We’ve got some really good ones planned for you, and there are still tickets available. Showtime is 5pm, so you’ve got plenty of time to catch the Saints and make it over to the Jazz and Blues Market. See you there!

This was one of the hardest songs to record on our album. “Help!” was written as a genuine plea for a lifeline. @johnlennon talked about re-doing it in that vein but never got around to it. With our version, we tried to imagine how he might have gone about it. Singing this without choking up was hard, lyrics I’ve sung 1000 times meant more sense than ever. This is the song I’m maybe proudest of, and I hope John would approve. #thebeatles #beatles #johnlennon #beatlescover #neworleansmusic

Y’all, @thebeatles Rubber Soul Super Deluxe is here and it’s FABTASTIC. Giles Martin’s new remix opens it up in ways that I just can’t believe. The whole package is beautiful, and I’m so excited to dive into this. May even have to re-rank a song or two after listening to the new mixes! A huge thank you to the Beatles team at @umgcatalog and Apple 🍏 for sending this over, y’all are amazing! #thebeatles #rubbersoul #applerecords🍏 #beatles #unboxing

We wanted to make “I’m Only Sleeping” even sleepier and lazier than the original. On the album we have slinky clarinet and trombone, it feels like 2am in the dark corners of the French Quarter. It’s not quite as dark at 9am on tv, but here we are. #thebeatles #beatles #neworleansmusic #beatlescover #beatlescoverband

What’s your best 2000s Halloween memory? For some reason we remember one in three men dressing as the Joker that one year…
