Sweating in Austin, TX

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’ve existed in this incarnation for 46 “years”.
I can still jump high.
I can still sprint.
I can produce and absorb force, change joint direction quickly, and recruit rotational power & explosive strength.

Practicing and honing these faculties directly translates to and improves my quality of life - they enable me to move the way I need to move to do the things I need to do to enjoy life the way I want to.

I want to share this work because it’s changed my life and empowered me to defy societal narratives about aging and human potential.

AUSTIN - JOIN ME FOR 8 WEEKS STARTING SEPT 2nd to level up your commitment to durability via movement mastery.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Landmine Foundations workshop last month!

I’m grateful for the opportunity to test my skills at articulating and workshopping Landmine University techniques and supporting movement philosophies.

Spinal engine theory posits that locomotion is driven by the bending and rotating of the spine, which then transfers rotational force to the hips.

You can see this pattern consistently through simple observations of human and animal gait patterns, as well as all other movements related to forward momentum - running, swimming, jumping, throwing, swinging.

The Landmine University system was created as a way to safely load the spine through explosive rotational movements. The Landmine attachment allows for force to be applied to the bar, creating forward intent without forward movement.

I am super passionate about this style of training, as a main focus or as an awesome compliment to round out other training programs.

Come train Landmines with me in my Primal classes @korrectfitness:

Primal Tools ⚒️: Thursdays at 11am
Primal Forge ⚒️: Saturdays at 12pm

Q4 2024. 🇯🇵 🇮🇩 🇰🇷 🇳🇱

Slurping Noodles, Bali Dogs, and finding my Seoul, or KBBQ! A lovely Thanksgiving and Christmas with family while bringing in the New Year from the canals of Amsterdamn.
.
I wrote some thoughts down while on the beaches in Bali and in the jungles of Ubud. Things I’m thinking about and taking into 2025. If you care to read. 📖
.
People over profit: connection runs much deeper.
.
The making and meaning of community. Is it the act/struggle everyone participates in or is it when you need someone most you can leverage that community. How strong is yours? Feel like the word has lost some of its value.
.
Work is rather very unimportant if it has no value. Doing something that has a direct impact on someone is far more valuable.
.
Expand @playmatchday in 5 cities. Scored some big goals in 24’ that will show itself this year! ⚽️
.
Experience trumps everything 😊
.
Find ways to live more fulfilled. Travel ignites creativity, a sense of freedom, and is a true passion.
.
Don’t waste time ⏰
.
Social relationships are the highest value of currency. Prioritize this. Invest time and energy into meaningful friendships to create stronger bonds.
.
Travel awakens the light in me 💡
.
Prioritize mobility. Knees ain’t getting any younger. Don’t tear another ligament. Running low! 🤣
.
Goals for Fitness, Personal, and Work.

Take things more seriously and show up.

Today, ButterCo is launching a new website, butterco.co (link in bio)

It’s sort of like being in 7th grade, going back to school shopping, where you’re pumped to show up to class in new shoes, fresh clothes that are much baggier than previous years, and a hairstyle that says I’m not a little boy anymore. But underneath all of that, you’re still the same person waiting for the final bell to ring so you can get home and throw on Disney Afternoon, get out your drawing pad, and murder a bag of Doritos.

Just me?

It’s always a bit strange to put a new website out, because so much effort and thought goes into it and more often than not, it’s just a blip on anyone else’s radar. But we do it nonetheless.

The last version, which was the Butterworth Collective (a name and website we’re now moving on from), was built out by John Butterworth, who did a great job and was with me on the ride of just trying to figure out what we’re doing. Now, almost five years later, Jack Prigel joined me on the ride to build a new ButterCo site with more experience, more folks weighing in, more to talk about, more excitement, more know-how, yet still just trying to figure it all out, ha.

I’m so happy to call ButterCo my home. I’m happy to share it with people that have helped us, past and present. People that I like very much, and even love. People like Sarah Hudson, Joy Leslie, John Butterworth, Bo Butterworth, Jack Prigel, Gabrielle Nicoll, Sabrina Spodek, Thomas Schambach, Marisa Butterworth, Jesse Butterworth, Lauren Hesterman, Terran Washington, Michael Rosenau, Adam Bender, Marc Ferrino, Dave Perry, Evan Walker, Jessica Peltzman, Luke Dreyer, Gustavo de Mello, Rye Clifton, Brett Baker, carter storozynski, nicole blauw, Eric Knittel, Gene Blakeney, Matt Blum, and many more who helped get us here.

It’s a literal dream come true.

So, welcome into our virtual house (butterco.co), take a look around, make yourself comfy in the living room, and feel free to leaf through our personal items in the bedroom closet. We don’t mind.

So Proud of ATX United Black!! This year’s performance was exceptionally impressive, finishing the last 8 games undefeated to earn a PROMOTION to the coveted PREMIER division!!! This accomplishment has actually been YEARS in the making. Looking back, I joined this team at the 4th Division level, 8 YEARS ago, after being dumped by an un-worthy squad. With a chip on my shoulder I fully committed to a fresh start with ATXBlack. Earning our promotion year after year, never giving up, and honestly creating a team culture that’s supportive, healthy, and fun. This culmination of so much commitment by so many guys over the past few years, means so much! Im full of emotion 🖤🖤Congrats!! #atxblack
