I’ve been accepted into a competition to run for “Fab Over 40.” There was a time in my life I would have thought there’s no way I would ever get past the acceptance stage, let alone win something like this. Now I think, why wouldn’t I win? You can read about my WHY on my profile here: https://fabover40.org/2025/kimberly-16b3 This has nothing to do with arrogance, an esthetics competition, rather a moment of radical acceptance—a moment of I’m enough without the a-z comparisons with other women. This is truly about confidence I have embodied and I can hold my head high smiling ear to ear no longer hating myself and actually have gratitude for everything that has made me, me. I’m in it to win it and I’m asking for your help please. 🥰 it is only a vote, nothing more. My main goal is to be able to give 20% of the cash prize to charity and the rest to expand and grow my business for you, bringing you the latest and greatest in service and products. The competition itself is to bring awareness and raise money for The National Breast Cancer Foundation. There are different phases of the voting process and I need all the votes possible on the daily to proceed through each phase. You can vote once every 24 hours. The link to help support me with your vote: https://fabover40.org/2025/kimberly-16b3 This has inspired me to share some stories and tips on confidence, transformation and growth through “The Confidence Chronicles” which begins tomorrow. Do you ever feel like you’re alone in your insecurities and anxiety? I know I’ve felt that way. I’m sharing this to unite us and grow together. I look forward to hearing about some breakthroughs here. 🤗 As always, thank you so much for your support in all my ventures and journey. Much love, Kimberly

Before we dive into to Operation Blue Line, here’s what needed to happen before I got back to the bike park. . Backstory: The last book I wrote did a number on my mental and physical health. If sitting is the new smoking, I was high-risk for butt cancer. Stress sent me to the ER. They thought I was having a heart attack. (No, it wasn’t a panic attack. I felt fine. My body said otherwise.) . This winter, I signed up for a personal trainer at my local gym. Justin at VillaSport (@jprince.pt) trains me 30 minutes once a week. We do HIIT circuits with weights. It helped me fight the seasonal depression that hits me every winter and started changing my body composition. I slowly built back three pounds of the muscle I had lost. . I also went back to a diet that served me well years ago when I was training for 24-hour Adventure Racing Nationals: Paleo for Athletes, based on the book by Joe Friel and Loren Cordain. High on lean protein (especially elk, venison, and fish), with carbs from veggies instead of grains. Supplemental carbs (rice!) before and during workouts. . I’m not saying that what works for me will necessarily work for you. You have to crack the code on what works for YOUR body and YOUR brain. But I’m trying to be more transparent about tools and processes that helped me claw my way back. . One of the tools that helped me crack my code was a food sensitivity blood panel by my doctor. (@funmedidaho) It indicated a high sensitivity to gluten and dairy (which I had long suspected) but also (sad trombone) eggs and soy. I can eat small amounts of these, but when I combine them or overdo the amount, I feel lousy — bloating, gut issues, brain fog, fatigue, bad sleep. . The combination of nutrition and strength training (and also modern medicine - thank you, HRT) helped me feel like myself again. And when I got back to the bike park, I felt a huge difference in my riding. I had more explosive power, which helps on the ramps and in the initiating moves for wheelies and bunny hops. . Again, this is not a prescription or recipe for anyone (talk you your doctor! Etc) but a few things that made a big difference for me.
