Koop jij weleens een boek puur vanwege die mooie illustraties?

Op dit moment werk ik aan de definitieve bestanden voor dit boek, zodat alles naar de drukker kan! En toen bedacht ik me… Ik heb deze illustratie helemaal nooit gedeeld?!

Dat kan echt niet, want ik ben zoooo verliefd op het resultaat!!

Dit zijn Colin en Madeleine uit The Perils of Pleasure, het eerste deel van de Pennyroyal Green-serie van @julieannelongauthor
De illustratie komt als ‘endpaper’-ontwerp in de limited edition van @jqeditions. En ik kan echt niet wachten tot ik dit ontwerp in het echt kan bewonderen!

Maar nu moeten we het nog even doen met de digitale plaatjes. Swipe voor het volledige ontwerp en een 3D-mock-up om te zien hoe het straks ongeveer gaat worden.

September photo dump! 📸❤️ Fall is my favorite and this month I was thriving with fall crafts, rereading favorite books, obsessing over ARC reads, fav shows being back (dancing with the stars, the traitors, the great British baking show), moving my library/office, lots of fun book mail! Bring on October!

Book friends! I got myself a present! My favorite reading genres are historical fiction, romance, and mystery so when I saw that Julia Quinn was starting a historical romance special edition imprint where the first two books include mysteries, I hit that buy button as fast as humanly possible. And now the books are here!

That fragile with care sticker must be for my heart because I know these books will make me cry! I’ve only read AN EXTRAORDINARY UNION by Alyssa Cole on audio before--Karen Chilton’s performance is incredible--so this will be my first time reading it on paper and I can't wait! I purposefully saved THE LAST LADY B by Eloisa James when it came out this summer to read the special edition first, but I just saw that Mary Jane Wells narrates the audiobook so this is going to turn into an immersive reading experience.

The JQ Editions hardcovers are gorgeous with original art and gold foil. They were packaged so carefully – such a treat. Now I need to go make them a special home in my bookcase. I am pretty sure you can still get these books and more through a late pledge so head to @jqeditions for more info and to learn about all the artists involved in this project!

💐📚💐 These beauties have arrived! The first two books from @jqeditions , "The Last Lady B" by @eloisajamesbooks and "An Extraordinary Union" by @alyssacolelit ! "An Extraordinary Union" is one of my favorites because, as much as I can be tempted by a Regency romance, American history and, particularly, female spies in the Revolutionary War and Civil War has been one of my obsessions since I was a girl. And I can't wait to read "The Last Lady B", perfect for the most Gothic time of the year! These books are gorgeous, with such beautiful art! I'm proud to have been a Kickstarter supporter of this project, and I'm excited to see what future books will be chosen and how they'll shine! 💐📚💐

Received my first @jqeditions shipment and maybe immediately regretted only pledging for 2026 (if anyone knows how I can upgrade to 2027 too let me know 🙃). These were obviously crafted with so much love and I’m interested to see how JQ Editions continues to bujld aesthetic worlds for its titles. While I am a special edition novice, these truly are stunning (and were shipped so protected!).

The Last Lady B by Eloisa James I’ve been holding off on reading knowing I had this edition ordered and I’m excited to see Eloisa James with gothic tones. (And what will the Shakespeare reference be? Hamlet’s father’s ghost?)

An Extraordinary Union by Alyssa Cole cemented I would be ordering these special editions when the project was announced. I love all Cole’s romances (and remain convinced a new Alyssa Cole romance could fix me), but as a historical romance reader first and foremost, the Loyal League series will always have a special place in heart. If anything, I am only sad I can’t get the whole series as special editions. An Extraordinary Union is the one I’ve reread the most, but I am due for rereads of the rest as well.

Julia Quinn has launched JQ Editions, which is her own line of special edition historical romances!!

There will be three titles in 2026 and six more in 2027. Each book is hand-picked by Julia, both recent gems and genre classics, reimagined as elegant special editions
with luxurious soft-touch covers, full-color endpapers, and elegant sprayed edges. She’s working closely with illustrators to ensure that the art celebrates the story and honors the author, and she promises that there will be no Al. Ever.

I was lucky enough to receive a copy of The Last Lady B by Eloisa James and it is absolutely STUNNING! I can’t wait to read it.
