Beckham and Eli took advantage of our open run today to bring a very fast friend —2024 6A 800m State Champion Joshua Rammage from Southmoore! Joshua holds the 6A meet record with a sizzling 1:51.35.

After running at the University of Arkansas the last two years, Joshua is transferring to Arizona State this fall. He has been volunteer coaching with the Southmoore XC team this summer. Oh…and his 800m PR…is down to 1:47.3 💨

🟣Thanks for hanging out with us Joshua!

We are livin’ good ‘cause we nailed yet another great morning for our LR!

Session 2 Week 2 LR2

5 - 12 miles. We have emphasized all summer long the importance of starting controlled and finishing strong on the LR. Intelligent LRs beat aimless and sloppy LRs every time.

📍 start more controlled than you normally would.

📍 let the run come to you as your body loosens up and your mind opens up.

📍 shave 5-8 secs off each mile.

📍 stay in the 65-70% max effort sweet spot.

📍 let your last two miles be your fastest.
