Meet Jake Dewey ❤️ He has worked here at Chico Locker for 16 years. He was born into this!

His favorite meat here is the marinated chicken breast with garlic, butter, and Parmesan cheese. They tumble for 45 minutes in a Tumbler drum so they’re extremely tender and juicy. Give it up for Jake! And be sure to say hi if you ever see him at the store 👋🏻

After tallow is rendered it is golden when liquid and then, surprisingly, turns solid white. It should have no odor if done correctly.

My husband, @jrdewey, has been a butcher for over 10 years. He knows what quality fat looks like on a cow and he hand picks only the best for me to process.

It’s time to “meat” the owner of Chico locker! Mr.David Dewey is a second generation butcher. He started working here in 1965 for his father Russell Dewey! Here are some of his favorites; Mr.Dewey’s go to sandwich is a hot pastrami on sour dough with melted Swiss cheese. Smoked polish sausage is his current favorite. He loves to hunt in his spare time, but his all time favorite is hunting turkey and deer. It’s safe to say his favorite employee is Mrs.Linda Dewey. Who he’s been married to for 49 years! You can find Dewey most days hanging out in the lobby entertaining costumers who love chatting with him!

Today is slaughter-men Saturday! “Meat” Jacob Russell Dewey! The grandson of our founder. He stared working here in 2008. His favorite sandwich is a hot pastrami and he absolutely love lamb Pattie’s. He’s happily married with two wonderful sons. And as far as his favorite employee…he pleads the filth! If you see Jake in his big kill truck give him a wave!
