ʙʀɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇᴍ ꜰʟᴏᴡᴇʀꜱ ɴᴏᴡ: ᴀ ʟᴏᴄᴀʟ ʜɪꜱᴛᴏʀʏ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀᴜᴛʜᴇɴᴛɪᴄ ꜰᴜᴛᴜʀᴇ (ꜱɪʟɪᴄᴏɴ ʙᴏʀᴅᴇʀꜱ) is open now Sept 18th to Oct 12th, 2026 at @FreeAssociatesLLC 343 N Hoff Ave — Gallery hours Sat-Sun 1pm to 5pm, and Mon-Fri by appointment. Thank you @hollagraham for photographing our opening night! The idea for this “museum from the future” began last year after visiting Checkpoint Charlie and the former Berlin Wall. I became interested in the political economy of how cultural tourism and evaluations of authenticity can freeze history into a static system—one where nothing new happens and the future feels inevitable. I began wondering: if we could visit a museum from the future, could it change the way we understand our relationship to the present? The conversations inspired by this idea led me and my dear friends Aaron Cargile and Feng-Feng Yeh to create this memorial to Tucson’s so-called inevitable future—a way to transmute our collective emotions around the ongoing systemic failures to protect the land and our communities, while asking: what can we learn from our ancestral bonds? Honored to have had the privilege of collaborating with this amazing team~

In need of funding for your next art project? Apply for our now-available 2027 stART Grant, as miniature artist, Jorge Ruiz (@jrminiatures) did in 2025. With funding from the stART Grant, Jorge Ruiz was able to create 5-6 miniatures of iconic buildings and/or facades from South Tucson and surrounding areas. "I wish to represent the spirit of Hispanic people in South Tucson, especially Mexican (since I am Mexican myself). Miniatures will be displayed in a local museum or gallery." Shared the artist. Join us in congratulating JR Miniatures!
