Today, Thursday, April 24th @ 3pm, pls join @audiopharmacy prescriptions’ crew @teaosense & @_lovespeak_ as we raise the vibes in solidarity and curate the soundscape for today’s Day of Action for Utility Justice Rally at the Capitol Mall (15th St & L St.) in Sacramento!

The event is co-hosted by @utilityjustice & @stop.pgenow 🙌🏾 Residents and community organizations from across California will be coming to share their stories and demands for utility justice.

The Reclaim Our Power: Utility Justice Campaign & Coalition is building the movement in California to make a just transition from for-profit utilities like PG&E to a safer, more affordable, and more resilient not-for-profit utility to put people and the planet over profits.

It’s time to take profits out of the energy system.

We’re in a critical moment for building a movement for utility justice and transformation in California. Last month, Los Angeles County sued Southern California Edison, saying the evidence was “clear” that the state’s second-largest utility was responsible for sparking the fires that killed at least 29 people in January, and “deliberately prioritized profits over safety” despite knowing of the “extreme fire risk” its equipment posed.

In February, PG&E announced record breaking profits of $2.47 Billion for 2024. Meanwhile, one in five households served by California’s largest investor-owned utilities are struggling with utility debt (that’s 7 million people). As a result, last year, over 300,000 families had their power shut off because they fell too far behind on their bills.

In March, PG&E requested the California Public Utilities Commission to raise residential electric rates for a 7th time in just over a year- this time JUST to boost shareholder profits. PG&E’s rates are already the highest in the continental US.

The month of June has always been a very special time since our son Saki, myself + Teao are all June babies. But this year, we also had two shows, one on Father’s Day, and one we helped produced that happened on Teao’s birthday.

Earlier in the week, Teao told me he was planning an intimate brunch on Saturday, so I thought casually inviting loved ones to dance + celebrate with me on Friday under the new moon at @dayslikethis.oakland felt organic + easy 🙌🏾 No frills, no fuss! No big trip out of the country to sit in ceremony, no big bday retreat to organize. Just a simple text that said ~ “Dance with me for my bday? 🌑🫶🏽💕🦌🎂💃🏽💫”

On my actual birthday, the only plans I had was to be still before a busy day of work ahead. I woke up in the morning, took my time to commune with my ancestors + guides, meditated on life, released a bit, and gave thanks for all the lessons + blessings. Since committing to self-love, I’ve had a deeper sense of freedom that I have never known before, and it feels so good! It allows me to give unconditional love from a fuller cup, and to slow down when it’s time to rejuvenate + vibe out with myself + with the rhythms of the Earth 🫶🏽☀️💦🌱🌬️
What I didn’t realize was there other plans for me. Spearheading the movement, my beloved @teaosense had spent the week planning a surprise party for me with the help of the kids + homegirls @_socrateslives @psilva17 @ 🥹💞😭🌸 They worked sooooo hard to put it all together, not allowing any room for error or me finding out prematurely. Omg 😆 they got me so good! My mind was blown 🤯 I ran out of the door in shock + cried on the floor! The surprise was a success! My heart + spirit filled with gratitude for the Pham + community who came to celebrate my bday and hold me down in life 🙏🏾💞🌸

It’s been a few weeks since my Solar Return, and I’m still in awe + deep gratitude for the sweet surprise party my community put together for me.

At this moment, I just want to say salamat kapwa / thank you my Pham who sent love messages, called to connect, spent quality time with me on my birthday + all the ways y’all hold me down. This litty mama is so grateful to have u all in my life 🥹💞

It’s always so wonderful to play for our community, but it’s an extra special occasion when it’s on the Full Moon, underneath the 🌕, and at a phenomenal place like the Exploratorium After Dark 🫶🏽 Thank u so much to Kathleen, Sam, Dylan and the whole crew who took such wonderful care of us and our guests! We had an amazing time and look foreword to nurturing our connection + building more in the future! And of course ~ thank you to our community for coming thru rain ☔️ or shine ☀️. We love y’all deep! Happy New Moon in Libra 🌑 Feeling so deeply grateful that Teao and I had the blessing to share such a transformative unconditional love, friendship + co-creation for the last 13 years🦋In this sacred journey, we’ve experienced epic highs, challenging lows and all the different facets of this life in between. And through it all ~ we both know that this Divine Love is powerful and a gift offered to our spirits so that we may learn and grow, to forgive and heal, and to build and elevate, so we can become the best we can be for each other, our children + family, our community, and for ourselves 💗

When we chose to celebrate our love on the Equinox 🍁, it was because we wanted to something radically powerful and decolonizing to cultivate and hold all the things that make us who we are and the values we believe in so profoundly. This special time is meant to remind us always of the importance of coming together to create balance. It offers us the time to reflect all thatwe are planting, and to slow down together to enjoy the harvest. In this sacred space, we allow ourselves to be our most vulnerable, to ground into our bodies, to inspire each other to tap into our most creative of energies, to taste the sweetness of each other’s honey, and to kindly look deeply in each other’s souls knowing that no matter what hardships + struggles comes our way, this divine love we have has the purity and strength to help us to sustain and reborn anew 🪷We are ever grateful for our ancestors + guides of love + light that are here to nurture and protect us, as well as to all our family and friends who have held us, supported us, rooted for us, and loved us both.

Happy love equinox anniversary to us! Thank you for all the precious moments in time that we have made together. Thank you for this beautiful family we never thought growing up we’d have. Thank you this amazing community we have built and share together. Thank you for the inspiration to humbly learn and become all that we can be within ourselves and with each other in this life time! Finally…so blessed to slow down to take a moment to reflect (and make a reel!) with Grandmother Moon 🌑 This summer has been legit nonstop, and I’m grateful for the pause so my spirit can tune in and realign with what matters the most. With all that is happening in the stars, I know my folx have been feelin’ all the feels - the good, the bad, and everything in between. I sure am! But tonight, I’m grateful…grateful of La Luna and all the rituals that nourish + heal our souls. Grateful for the abundance of opportunities to share our heARTwork in the world. Grateful for the challenges that are brought to us to help us grow into our highest selves. Grateful for the vision of hope that grows brighter with every prayer. And grateful for this beautiful community that inspires to raise the vibrations in the planet.

Greetings Phamilia! Still feeling the powerful vibrations of the night, + grateful to have had these last few days to integrate the medicine of the space we all shared, and in deep reflection for the blessings/offerings that came together in honor of our ancestors + our beloved community.  
As a production team, this is the first community event we produced as a collective since the pandemic, and the first Halloween event since our huge warehouse parties back in 2013! In the last 8 years, we’ve deepened in our focus + purpose when organizing events for our community + so happy that many of you are still vibin’ with us today! At its core, events like AnceSTARS is a gift from Audiopharmacy Prescriptions to our community, our ancestors, Mama Earth + beyond. Thank you for sharing this journey with us as we pave + cultivate new ways to channel love, healing, humanity + solidarity with each other through the music + the movement.

We want to give our love + gratitude to:

It's not just an album release day for me but its also the re-birth of our record label @sublevel_epidemic a label started and ran by Below The Surface owner Kegs One late 90's. Alot of people may remember I started in the small/humble scene of Portland Or. mid-late 90's and fortunately through PMinus's tape trades on ATAK Kegs had discovered my music and sold my tapes in one of the best eras of underground Hip-Hop. When I arrived to the Bay in 2002 I was honored to be added to the collective and well established label that was mostly releasing vinyl at the time. I don't think I would of had such good shows and opportunities in California if it wasn't for these guys that put me on. All the homies are still in touch the few I been workin with and still pushing in 2017 besides me are Deeskee, Spexxx, DJ Icewater, Self Advocate, Megabusive, Dave Dub, Maleko etc.. I'm sure more heads will show along the way as families and kids grow, we also broadcast oldies and new stuff on Deeskee's #la2thebayradio every saturday night 8-10pm. So please check out tomorrows release #PermanentKnock this is a 20 year milestone of packaging up underground gems for everybody. Peace
