Double Daddy 🐺✌️

Genuinely still reeling from getting to meet @piercebrownofficial 🤯

Because I have a really bad habit of not reflecting on the good stuff and focusing on what didn't or could have happened. But if I'm being real, this time last year I wouldn't have even imagined I'd be laughing alongside my favourite author or getting to spend time with a bunch of incredible people I met by talking about books.

Reading is cool guys.

Hodderscape Showcase 💜

I had the best time celebrating 15 years of @hodderscape with so many incredible people! A huge thank you to @georgebiggsbooks and the team for inviting me, I really had the best evening! 🥂✨

Hodderscape have so many exciting titles coming up, definitely keep your eyes peeled! 👀

And it was lovely to see @bcemercer and @piercebrownofficial - talking about all things Red Rising, including the film adaptation! 🤭

Q - Is there an upcoming release you’re excited for?

Honestly, i'm just a dad who really loves to talk about books 🤷‍♂️

I don't think I'll ever wrap my introverted head around what people see in me 😂

But i'm working on it.

Had an utterly fantastic day yesterday thanks to @hodderscape and especially for @georgebiggsbooks for inviting me along to meet one of my favourite authors at @fourquartersbar

I have to say, @piercebrownofficial is one of the most naturally funny, and genuinely intelligent and eloquent authors I’ve had the joy of meeting. He can go from an extremely in depth look at philosophical and theological themes on society, to singing Oops I Did It Again by Britney (yes he did sing that to me and I will forever treasure it).

I also had the pleasure of meeting some amazing creators, lovely people all around who share the same enjoyment of reading and books.

I often get people ask “oh why do you do your book account though”, this. This is why.

This year’s #bhm theme is honouring our communities, so here are a few people, organisations and books clubs who I consider to be part of my bookish community, from those that have helped me to formulate the thoughts and ideas that often make it into my videos, creators I admire and aspire to be like, to cool things and people you should just know about (if yvou don’t already!)

This is by no means an expansive list so if there are other people in the Black British Bookish community that aren’t already on the list please tag them below 🙂

Spoiler warning! First ever buddy read with @jrthereader reading Piranesi little compilation of our thoughts!
This was so fun getting to bounce ideas and theories off of someone else while reading a book!

Which spooky book did you get?👀

Some of these books are my favourite spooky reads of all time, and they’re perfect for fall! Whichever one you got, I hope you’re ready to be scared 👀👻
