POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Thank you to everyone who came out, packed the theater, walked the red carpet, supported our filmmakers, and helped make this year’s festival something special!

Most importantly, thank you to all of the filmmakers who trusted us with your work. This festival exists because of your stories, your creativity, and your willingness to put the Central Valley on the big screen.

🏆 Congratulations to our Best Motion Picture winner, Quince Candles by Deane Gonzalez, and our People’s Choice Award winner, The Pendant by Prado!

📸 Festival and red carpet photos are coming soon! We’re hoping to have the full galleries available sometime next week, so keep an eye out.
Thank you, Central Valley. Until next year. 🎥❤️

Anime Expo 2026 has come and gone! Everyone can now take a deep breath, then we prepare for next year. 😂
Met so many truly amazing people, saw superb works off passion and artistry, and made one of a kind memories.
I cannot wait for the Expos of '27!!! 🙌

🏉 SB Mermaids vs. Fullerton Wolfpack

No fluff. Just hits.
This past weekend, the Santa Barbara Mermaids stepped into the arena against the battle-tested Fullerton Wolfpack, and it was all gas, no brakes from kickoff to whistle.

Wolfpack came in with set-piece muscle and scrum dominance — no surprise there. But the Mermaids? They didn’t back down. This fresh squad brought that raw, unfiltered hustle. Big tackles. Relentless pressure. Forward packs grinding out phases and clawing their way to tries like they had something to prove — because they did.

💥 It was muddy, it was messy, and it was beautiful. Women’s rugby hits different — there’s a rhythm and rage to it that you don’t coach. You either got it or you don’t. And these ladies got it.

Respect to both sides. Great game. Bigger hearts. Can’t wait for the rematch.

Headed home today after stopping in Charleston to help Josie move out. I’ve loved coming here for visits over the past 5 years to this beautiful city (and its amazing restaurants!). Next stop for her, grad school at The Bren School of the Environment at University of California Santa Barbara!
