On July 11th, 2026, @daughtersandsonsofboriken organized a rally from the Intrepid Museum to the Army Recruiting Center at Times Square and mobilized in solidarity with @madrescontralaguerra, who mobilized simultaneously in Ceiba, PR, against a military base and called on @daughtersandsonsofboriken across the diaspora and on New Yorkers to protest the remilitarization of Puerto Rico and its current use as a springboard to invade sister nations from Cuba and Venezuela to Palestine.

🎙️ “Nos tenían entrampados… era un show mediático… pero esta lucha no se detiene.”
Right after stepping out of the United Nations where he gave testimony on Puerto Rico’s colonial status, Eric Ramos Rodríguez, president of the NY Junta of the Puerto Rican Independence Party (PIP), pulled up to the mic at the Puerto Rico Freedom Rally and reminded us what this moment is really about. 🕊️✊🏽

He didn’t sugarcoat it: the decolonization hearing felt like political theater—a media show funded by empires with no real stakes in our liberation. But standing in front of the crowd outside at Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza, he called on all of us to stay focused, unified, and committed to expanding this fight until we reach victory. 🛡️

Despite the heat, the storm, the delays—we showed up. And like Eric said: “Lo único que nos queda es seguir ampliando esta lucha.”

🎤 @v.i.p.jay_ (@victory.in.puerto.rico ) of @Victory.in.Puerto.Rico followed up with truth:
🗣️ “We all do things differently—but we’re all tired of watching our elders suffer, our land sold off, and our people left behind. It’s gonna take every lane to achieve liberation.”

📍 Puerto Rico Freedom Rally
📆 June 16 | 4–7PM EST
📍 Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza, NYC (E. 47th St between 1st & 2nd Ave)
🎙️ Organized by: @elfrentepr @v.i.p.jay_
🎤 Speaker: Eric Ramos Rodríguez of @pipr.pr

Let this be a reminder:
We aren’t here for show.
We’re here for freedom.
🎥 More speakers and videos from the rally dropping soon—tag someone who needs to hear this.

🛠️🇵🇷 It takes a tribe to build a movement.

This was the scene around 4PM as the Puerto Rican Freedom Rally came to life outside the United Nations. No stage crew, no corporate sponsors—just pueblo energy. Hands building together. Voices aligning. Community moving with purpose.

Much love and deep gratitude to the organizers who made this moment possible @v.i.p.jay_
@UnitedNations.PuertoRico @Victory.In.Puerto.Rico @ElFrentePR @ElGritoOrg @huertasdeanpr @marc_reign 🙏🏽

This is just the beginning—this series will spotlight the poets, rappers, speakers, and organizations that stepped up to the mic to push for decolonization, dignity, and self-determination.

To everyone who pulled up, held space, and uplifted our call for liberation—gracias.
This is what collective power looks like. This is what resistance rooted in love sounds like.

🎥 Stay tuned—more videos coming soon from the frontlines of the movement.

🇵🇷✨ Yesterday, we stood shoulder to shoulder in cultural resistance and Boricua pride outside the United Nations for the Puerto Rico Freedom Rally. From the streets of NYC to the halls of international diplomacy, our voices rang loud and clear: 125+ years of colonial rule is 125 too many.

📸 @papisant0s

🎤 Artists, poets, elders, youth, and freedom fighters came together to testify, perform, and represent our people’s truth — calling out economic injustice, cultural erasure, climate catastrophe, and ongoing political repression in Puerto Rico.

🗣️ Inside the UN, the Committee on Decolonization once again recognized Puerto Rico’s right to self-determination, urging an end to U.S. colonialism. Outside, flags waved, bomba drums echoed, and chants for libertad filled Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza.

This was more than a rally — it was a diasporic uprising in defense of our island, amplified by anti-austerity groups, Afro-Boricua and Indigenous leaders, environmental orgs, and radical solidarity from across generations and geographies.

🔥 La lucha sigue, and the world is watching. Thank you everyone involved from the organizers, those who showed up, spoke out, performed, and marched with heart. We are one voice, many drums. 🖤🇵🇷

PROSECUTE GUILTY COPS and REOPEN CASES of police brutality. Today, 29 August, 2024, is the 3rd anniversary of the shooting death of Mike Rosado, at the hands of police. As videos have shown, Rosado was unarmed with hands up, when shot at multiple times. Family members of and supporters of justice for Mike hold vigil for Mike and continue to demand prosecution of officers involved and reopening this case. Rafael Rosado , father of Mike Rosado, is present at vigil. For the past three years he has been incarcerated on false charges of attempted murder. The charges were recently dismissed.

Cuba shows us that a better world is possible. Truly grateful for the opportunity to join the 52nd contingent of the Venceremos Brigade with beautiful friends, old and new. Thank you to everyone who donated funds and material aid to share with the communities we visited. We are excited to share our learnings so stay tuned!

The goals of @vb4cuba are:

- End the US blockade of Cuba, all US-imposed travel restrictions, and all regime change programs
-End the illegal US military occupation of Guantánamo Bay
-Remove Cuba from the US State Department’s list of State Sponsors of Terrorism
-Strengthen movements for justice in the US through exchange and collaboration with Cuba

We struggled together and continue to be inspired by revolutionaries like Mariana Grajales and Antonio Maceo. We honor the sacrifices of all our martyrs. For all oppressed and occupied peoples from Turtle Island to Cuba to Falasteen, we will free us!

¡El bloqueo pal carajo! ¡Viva Cuba! End the occupation! Long live the resistance!

Mil gracias por los compas de @siempreconcuba por acompañarnos en estos momentos bellos.
