🫰🏼💜🎨 RM of BTS just left the SFMOMA reception and back to his hotel!

He made an appearance at the SFMOMA this afternoon for his exhibition Between You and Me.

RM gave about a 10 minute speech about how he feels curating this exhibit and bringing it to San Francisco.

Thank you to the amazing BTS Army who sent me this video and shared amazing freebies with me and the rest of the media preview people! 💜🫰🏼

What an eventful day at RMxSFMOMA! From freebie meetup, helping @atta_joy_ca unload the beautiful RM cake created by @dessertavenuebakery with @purplejong , delivery of the press bags orchestrated by @atta_joy_ca (great job!!!), hanging out with new and old ARMY friends (shout out @norcal_noonas ) and knowing that my freebie pin was handed to @rkive directly by ARMY at the reception 💜💜💜🥲!

Tagging ARMY (sorry if I missed you🥲) Borahae!!!!!
Credit to @fangurlkaren for the ending RM pic and footage and being so awesome hooking me up with Oct 1 ticket!!

Every week, I get asked the same questions:

“How did you start your photography journey?”
“How do you become a Sony Artisan?”

The short answer?

It started with community.

Back in 2008, I found Scott through Xanga. I was drawn to his imagery, but also his story, his heart for adoption, his life with Stacey, and the way he believed in people. At the time, I was in my 20s with an entry-level DSLR and kit lens, barely knowing how to get it off Auto mode.

I wasn’t a photographer yet.

When Scott began teaching workshops in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing, I helped organize and translate. Most of the time, I wasn’t shooting. I was carrying lights, organizing models, helping behind the scenes, and watching everyone else create.

But something clicked during that season.

For the first time, I saw what this life could look like: creatives traveling together, learning from one another, and building friendships through photography.

The following year, I attended WPPI and watched Scott on stage winning awards. I remember thinking:

“Maybe one day… I can do this too.”

I never imagined that thought would eventually lead me to becoming an international portrait and wedding photographer - and later, a Sony Artisan of Imagery alongside Scott in 2015.

But honestly, more than the images, what stayed with me most was always the people.

Walking the streets together with cameras in hand.
Sharing ideas over meals.
Helping each other chase the light.

That feeling never leaves you.

Now, nearly two decades later, Scott and I are building something special for photographers, visual storytellers, and creatives - centered around learning, travel, mentorship, and most importantly…

community.
