It was awesome to hear one of our tracks in @kamsoofunny’s latest short film with @lolnetwork and @doordash. If you haven’t seen Dash Of A Lifetime yet, you’ll hear Tony Sopiano’s “Peri-Peri Quite Contrary”.

Shoutout to @jtfeldman and @adwater0212 for the music supervision!

🎧YOU’VE BEEN HEARD!🎧

Still riding the high from the HEARD Listening Session at the GMS Conference! Huge thank you to all of the incredible music supervisors and sync executives who showed up, listened, shared their insights, and helped make this experience so special. 🙌🏾

And of course, our AMAZING lineup of artists who brought the music! It was such a joy to put these artists in the room with the people who champion music for picture and create opportunities for their work to be heard.

Big love to my partner in crime @synchwith_e for making it all happen with me! 🫶🏾

So… should HEARD come back next year with LIVE PERFORMANCES?!

Music supervisors & sync execs — CHIME IN! What would you love to see from HEARD next year?

Sound and Vision Team —

Reed Nisson — Reed (cinematographer) is the man behind the camera. Unfortunately for him, he gets stuck with me on long car rides. Here we are in the desert somewhere between shoots. My favorite thing about Reed is how much he cares about anyone on the crew. Not photographed here: Wyatt Maker, Harrison Rusk

Vasilios Sfinarolakis — Vas shot almost all of the verite of the team during the 24/25 season. My favorite moment that he shot was Geno talking to the team after they beat SC in the regular season.

Daniel Carter — Daniel’s shot parts of every doc I’ve directed and many of the others I worked on before directing. His repeated requests to Geno to “put me in coach!” were ignored.

Ben Nimkin — Almost every recorded bit of sound was recorded by Ben, but how can you not acknowledge him capturing “I love you, I hate you, I love you.” Also he may have been the reason I got yelled at for the squeaky shoes!

Scott Salinas — The Music Man. Anyone who watches this show knows how much I love Scott’s music. It’s as important to me as the content we capture in the field and nobody does it better.

Seth Ricart and RCO — A brilliant colorist, human, and founding member of the middle aged cycling group, The Bike Tysons.

Tristan Baylin and Gigantic Studios — The reason you feel like you’re inside the arena at every moment is because of Tristan’s brilliant sound design and mixing. The second MAMIL in the Bike Tysons.

Autumn Nakamura, Daron Nealis and HSC.TV — Don’t let the photo fool you, as anyone in Denison Cinema (where we met) will tell you, they’re “quite professional.” Their incredible team at HSC.TV helped do all of the graphics for this show.

Justin Feldman and Hit The Ground Running — I love working with Justin because he gets every major artist to agree to a fee we can actually afford. And the ones who don’t? He finds an alternative song that’s even better.

LA Recap

I didn’t document much because I was really just living in the moment but here’s a few highlights.

I see LA culture in some much tv/film that I had to take this first shot. 😂 Randy’s Donuts

The @guildofmusicsupervisors conference was pretty dope. I met some cool artists and music execs along the way. Thx to @blkprincelm @iamphilippewastaken @jtfeldman @soundsincolor_music @iamjasoncgrant and @synchwith_e allowing my record to be featured during the HEARD: Listening Session. I appreciate the responses and connections along the way.

Key Note moment was a great convo hosted my @diallo. This guy knows music and film. Podcast is dope too.

I dropped in on my Columbia College bro Evan. Definitely been 20 years since I’ve seen you bro. Great time.

Of course I had to see the MJ exhibit at the Grammy Museum.

And lastly, I dropped in on one of my songwriting heroes @lieutenantcannn Candice Nelson. Check out her credits. Please. She along with James Fauntleroy are the reasons I write and how many ppl can say they’re friends with their heroes?! ✋🏾

I guess I'll do the trend too...2016 was wild man. I was working behind the scenes as a producer for 104.3 MyFm and Big Boy's Neighborhood. Met some cool celebs because of it, went to Childish Gambino's Pharos Festival in Joshua Tree where we saw him perform Awken My Love before it came out. Surfed and hiked waterfalls in Hawaii, went to Vegas for the 1st time, won a bunch of softball championships and knocked Petco Park off thr MLB stadium bucketlist with my mom and grandparents. Looking back on my setlistfm account in 2016 I went to 57 concerts and 5 festivals including EDC and Hard Summer for the 1st time. Wild times - I miss it.
