Welcome back to another Wednesday Wordplay Workout! Prompt: "Write a poem that ends with the line: And so it begins" Example: "The air is trading its notorious humidity For a crisp chill I can breathe again Fill my lungs with something dry Stand outside without sighing Or saying It's so dang hot today Today Is a new day Spiced with pumpkin Decorated with costumes Where people can be something they are not For the fun of it When the Sunshine State can be something it is not For a moment And maybe the reason is to give us a break In this season that precedes 'Tis the season So let's be jolly Because A little early happiness Never killed anybody A chill in Florida never made someone frown We welcome a cool wind And so it begins" Let's work those pens, -Christopher #poetry #spokenword #writingchallenge #poetsofinstagram #teenpoets

Hey everyone, welcome back to another Wednesday Wordplay Workout! Prompt: Write a poem that tells a story. Example: "There was a man named John Who lived very long And he always wanted to sing He was born at the start Entered life with a cry Told himself he'd sing once he found the words Then when the words came He said knowledge was to blame And said he'd sing after finishing school But after school, he said bills must be paid And he'd get a job first, and promised he'd Still sing one day Then he said he needed love Something to sing about So he married a wife And they started a life They raised a family And watched it grow Then he said he was busy but still loved to sing That he'd do it when he had the time Then John became old And his voice started to go His grandkids asked why he started to fret He said "I had a song in my head, but never sang it yet" John always had time But never made time to sing So he lived very long Without singing his song" Happy writing, -Christopher #spokenword #poetry #poetsofinstagram #teenpoets #writingchallenge

Welcome back to another Wednesday Wordplay Workout! Prompt: Write a poem that answers the question, "Why are you here?" Example: "I just felt like going around Looking for a reason to keep walking I just stumbled You see Didn't really feel like getting back up Didn't feel like it was worth it Didn't feel like I had a purpose Anymore The more you walk The more you will stumble But the more you walk The more you will recognize the beauty of the path And that doesn't take away The beauty of the past It's still there It will always still exist in a moment of time But I just had to force myself to keep walking Even though I didn't feel like moving at all I feel numb right now But I'll just put one foot in front of the other Because I want to be able to feel again And that's why I'm here At the top of the hill Watching the "sunraise"" Happy writing, -Christopher #poetsofinstagram #writingprompt #writingchallenge #poetry #spokenword
