ASSSSKETCH, June 28, 2026

Another belated post but I had to start with the June @assssketchnyc Pride show hosted by the amazing @emilytarver & @viccimartinez 🌈♥️

Such a fun show! Emily and Vicci are so talented and this is such a funny cast and crew.

I’ve been photographing the show monthly for a while now, and it’s a pleasure to return to UCB where I learned how to shoot and wrote & directed sketch and worked in the tech booth and cleaned up trash after shows. Now I just get to take pictures. 😄

Snatchers
Budget $205k
Shoot Days 24
Location New York City, NY & New Jersey
Year 2017-2018

👇for how it started
-> swipe for the facts

In 2015 Kingman got the idea for Snatchers.

“I was living in a Brooklyn high rise and had some very weird neighbors. I watched the 70s “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” one night and realized I’d have no idea if my neighbors were body snatched because they already behaved so oddly.”
- John Kingman

He spent two years developing the script with writer friend, Guy Patton.

Kingman then got his producer friend, Clara Peterson, on board.

“She was so on board that she quit her day job 3 months before production started to focus on the film,” Kingman said.

They raised $205k out of a $250k budget and “decided to just go for it with the reduced money.”
