Finally getting around to sharing this awesome midcentury modern kitchen we completed last year. We used a mix of wood and white laminate with a pop of sage along the cooktop and pantry wall.

It was so lovely to see people run into each other at AWP —the open arms, the long hugs, the so-good-to-see-yous💞 I got to be with my @writelikeaunicorn team, my fellow panelists, beautiful writer friends and teachers like @jenqiii @suchthekaitlin @thesusanito and more. My baby met my agent and immediately reached for her like a long lost loved one. And in between the #awp24 events there were sweet family moments and very good BBQ.

Kansas City was kind to us, and I'm holding its people in my heart. We saw the decorations at Union Station just a few days ago. They should have been celebrating today, not mourning💔

Dropped everything and took a three-day weekend to hike the 25-mile Lost Coast Trail in Northern California with @tjkp. Some of the most technical hiking I've done over thousands of rocks and boulders, where every step counted. Really no better way to feel alive and fully present (and a hoot to do this trip with a pro photographer like this guy). Happy birthday, T.J.

I've lost track of how many days the air has been unhealthy to breathe. I miss when we could walk up the hill, inhale the fresh air, look out at our beautiful city. The skyline is obscured by smoke now. We're inside with the windows closed, constant hum of air purifier, daily headaches and sore throats. Feeling so grateful to have a place to shelter, worried about those who don't. It seems almost too late, but I hope this is the year we can learn to take better care of our Earth and one another.

While my body is at home on a cloudy San Francisco evening, my mind is visiting sun-filled Monemvasia, possibly the most picturesque place I've ever been. No other place has made me want to awkwardly pose next to stranger's houses, and hopefully no other place will😬

This castle town seemed to depend entirely on tourism, and I worry about how they're doing now. I tried to Google "covid-19, Monemvasia" and didn't find anything. If you live or work there and happen to see this post, let me know how things are there💙

When we first met, I was just starting to pull myself out of a low and challenging time of life. J.T. always saw an elevated version of me, though. The way he sees me has helped me get closer to the person I want to be, and I've seen him change and grow more than anyone I know. Thank you @jtroll for helping me rise to life's challenges🌺💜🌿

Our next stop was Meteora. The natural beauty there is so overwhelming it feels holy🌠 I actually got down on my knees and said a prayer in the open air, maybe for the first time ever🙇🏻‍♀️ fittingly, there are monasteries nestled atop the towering rocks, overlooking green valleys that hold red-roofed towns, intrepid goats, and of course many cat-friends🐈

We spent our days taking morning hikes, cooking on our cute little burner, and eating all our meals outside🥪

Social media is not made for slow pokes like me🐢 everything ends up being a throwback or a latergram. I like to digest experiences a little before sharing, and our honeymoon in Greece was quite an experience. Between the two of us, we probably took about a thousand photos, so bear with me as I sift for a few favorite moments in each location.🧸 Our first stop was Athens, where jetlag woke me up at 3:30am most mornings. In the darkness, I'd fumble for my books and read on the balcony until J.T. woke up a couple hours later. The start of many shared sunrises🌄
